Career
Dear Sir My son got CSC in Thapar Eng. and Electronic Engg in VlSI in PEC Chandigarh. Please suggest
Ans: Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology’s Computer Science program consistently achieves over 90% campus placement, supported by strong industry collaborations, dedicated research centers, and extensive alumni networks. Its well-resourced computing labs, modern curriculum, and experienced faculty in cutting-edge areas like AI and cybersecurity foster both theoretical understanding and practical skills. Punjab Engineering College’s Electronics Engineering with VLSI specialization offers robust hands-on training in semiconductor design labs, experienced faculty in microelectronics, and a respectable placement rate around 85% in core companies. PEC’s industry partnerships focus on defense and semiconductor firms, while its campus provides comprehensive infrastructure and focused research opportunities. Both institutions maintain strong academic reputations, rigorous accreditation, active placement cells, and mentorship programs. Thapar’s broader computing ecosystem and higher placement consistency give it an edge for roles in software and emerging technologies, whereas PEC’s VLSI track excels for graduates targeting semiconductor design careers.

The recommendation is to choose Thapar’s Computer Science for superior placement consistency, expansive industry ties, and versatile career pathways, reserving PEC’s VLSI specialization for those committed to core semiconductor design roles. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!
