I am 22 and have completed by b.com from tier 3 clg and still have not passed ca intermediate after 3 attemptes and for not showing gap yr in my profile i enrolled for mcom from same clg .I am confused shall I stop preparing for ca or look for a job and after that go for mba or should i switch my stream bcoz i have interest in graphic design and data analysis stuff?

Ans: Leave further attempt for CA, three attempts are more than enough. The level of college is not very important. Your knowledge, presentation and performance will matter. You can leave M.Com also. But if you are in second year then please complete it. Go for an online MBA in finance or IT. If you switch your stream from commerce to Data Analysis then do the MBA in IT and go for a certification course of AI & Machine Learning. Never it is too late. You are only 22, which is a rising sun. DECISION DECIDES DESTINY, NOT HARD WORK. DO SMART WORK. I am always there with you. Do as I told you.

Ans: I believe so yes. I have had quite a few students who after not being able to clear their CA exams when on to do an MBA and landed up with good jobs. Example - a student who was trying for 3 years for CA, gave up and wrote CAT got into TAPMI and managed to get a job at Deloitte post his MBA. He was happy with his job. I have also had students who gave up doing CA and managed to get into top colleges including top IIMs like IIM ABC.

Ans: Can look for a job and simultaneously start preparing for MBA. Having a bigger gap is not advisable as you may find it difficult to defend it in the interview.

Alternative approaches include a hybrid approach, switching fully to government jobs for stability, structured work, and benefits, or trying one more CA attempt if you still have the motivation and confidence. If you're passionate about CA and believe you can clear it with focused effort, give it another chance. If you're unsure and more inclined towards job security, it's practical to shift towards government job preparation while working. Commit to your decision fully and avoid constantly second-guessing. After doing professional course like CA, you will still need to find some suitable job etc. Since you don't seem too confident of clearing it & given the time span/age factor, alternative option of going for govt. job while working seems more practical/plausible.

Ans: You have not mentioned your son's home state. Given his rank, securing a CSE seat in NITs may be challenging, but admission to ECE in some NITs and CSE/IT/ECE in several IIITs is more realistic, especially during the later JoSAA and CSAB rounds. Consider applying to IIIT Una, IIIT Kottayam, IIIT Dharwad, IIIT Kalyani, IIIT Bhagalpur, IIIT Raichur, IIIT Manipur, and IIIT Agartala. For ECE, newer and mid-tier NITs and IIITs are good options. The CSAB special rounds are crucial as they fill vacant seats after JoSAA. Ans: Admission to top NITS/IIITs seems unlikely. You can try lower-ranked govt colleges/IIITs or state colleges for CSE, or consider other branches in NITs via CSAB.

Through JoSAA/CSAB, fill IIIT Una, IIIT Sonepat, IIIT Kalyani, IIIT Bhagalpur, IIIT Manipur, IIIT Raichur, IIIT Dharwad, but CSE/ECE may mostly depend on CSAB vacancy movement. You must have backup options of JAC Chandigarh, HSTES Haryana, Punjab colleges, IPU Delhi, Private Universities, and State counselling. Ans: Chances with South NITs are slim. You may try for lower branches in lower NITs. Yet the chances are on the borderline. Better to keep an alternative option open.

Ans: At CRL 25,624, General male, Telangana HS, Mechanical is a realistic target. NIT Warangal Mechanical may be difficult in regular JoSAA, as recent HS Open Mechanical closing ranks were around 15k–17k in early 2025 rounds and around 15k in 2024 Round 1. Better Mechanical options: NIT Calicut, NIT Rourkela, NIT Durgapur, NIT Patna, NIT Raipur, MANIT Bhopal, VNIT Nagpur, NIT Jalandhar, NIT Silchar, plus CSAB round. Also consider NIT Warangal Metallurgy/Chemical/Civil. dditionally, please review the JoSAA opening and closing ranks from the last 2-3 years to gain further insights and better understand admission trends.
