I have 16435 rank, I'm confused in selecting any Branch or NIT OF MY CHOICE, I'M INTRESTED IN TECH,HOWEVER GETTING CSE OR ECE IN LOWER NITS,I HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION TO IT,LIKE TAKING A CORE Branch AND PREPARING SIDE BY SIDE, FOR dsa and coding,I have options like Electrical in Kurukshetra, Mechanical at allahabad, and chemical at Trichy, which to choose?

Ans: Hello Arharv
If you are getting CSE at Lower NITs, then go for it. Choosing a core branch while simultaneously preparing in DS+AI or coding may seem easy at the early stage, but maintaining consistency and staying updated becomes very difficult as time passes. As you mentioned, you are only interested in tech branches, so consider dropping the idea of electrical, mechanical, or chemical branches. Pursue CSE at any NIT and fulfill your dream; this is the best path for you.
Best of luck to you.

What nits should I choose, so I have secured 17300 rank in jee mains my home state is up and I am not getting branches like ee or cse so what should I choose mechanical at nit allahabad or get ece in lower nit bhopal or to choose dtu. Please sir help I am very confused about this
Ans: Prakhar, With a JEE Main rank of 17,300 and Home State (UP) status, Mechanical Engineering at NIT Allahabad emerges as the most viable option, given its 2024 closing rank of 19,748 for Home State quotas, aligning closely with your rank. NIT Allahabad’s Mechanical program demonstrates a 93% placement rate (2024) with core roles in automotive and manufacturing sectors from recruiters like Tata, L&T, and Siemens, alongside a robust internship rate of 60%. Comparatively, NIT Bhopal’s ECE program remains inaccessible with your rank, as its 2024 closing rank for ECE (Other State) was 2,338, far exceeding your current standing. DTU’s Mechanical Engineering, while offering 85% placement rates (2024) and exposure through Delhi’s industrial ecosystem, shows a 2024 closing rank range of 12,586–20,977 (General All India), positioning your rank at the higher end of the cutoff spectrum with no Home State advantage. While DTU provides broader interdisciplinary opportunities and IT recruitment via companies like Microsoft and Amazon, NIT Allahabad’s Mechanical program ensures stronger placement stability and home state quota benefits. Recommendation: Opt for Mechanical Engineering at NIT Allahabad for assured placements and core industry alignment, prioritizing program-specific opportunities over DTU’s location advantage given comparable academic rigor and higher placement certainty. All the BEST for your Admission & a Prosperous Future!

I feel like a total failure even after completing MBBS from Madras Medical College, i am not getting any job of my choice, how do i get past this
Ans: Shocked to hear your concerns! It’s surprising that even after completing MBBS from a reputed institution like Madras Medical College, you’re facing difficulties in finding the right job. But remember, this is not failure. It’s just a transition phase where patience and flexibility are key. It’s natural to feel low when expectations don’t meet reality, yet this doesn’t diminish your achievement. Explore alternative opportunities such as internships, research roles, rural postings, or preparing for specialization through NEET-PG if you haven’t already. Many successful doctors began their journeys in challenging conditions, and their perseverance eventually brought recognition. Talking with seniors and mentors can provide valuable guidance, while sharing your feelings with friends can help you avoid loneliness and fatigue.

At the same time, don’t neglect your mental and emotional well-being. Connect with peers who’ve been through similar struggles. It will remind you that this phase is temporary. You can also build additional skills in communication, public health, research, or even health technology, which may open new career paths. Use this period to strengthen your CV with workshops, volunteering, or online certifications. Most importantly, be kind to yourself: completing MBBS is already a huge accomplishment, and setbacks don’t define your worth. Sometimes, stepping back to rest and reflect can bring the clarity and energy you need to move forward with confidence.

Good luck.
