Hi, everyone i really need ur help... I passed my 10th in 2021. After that, I wasn’t able to clear 12th in 2023, 2024, and 2025, but I finally passed 12th in 2026 because I was in depression as my mom was really sick and i m the only child (elder) to take care of her and my father, we both were there to look after her from past two years we both are suffering from her condition so i wasnt be able to concentrate and focus on my studies tbh.I also appeared for jee in 2026 for the first time, but my percentile was not good (50%). I am planning to appear again in 2027, and I still have a valid attempt left. If I manage to get a good rank in JEE Main 2027, will I be eligible for admission in nit iiit or others or not? Will they give me admission in their college as someone told me even if u crack jee they will not give u any admission in their college. Will my multiple attempts in 12th or the gap years affect my admission in any way in nit iiit? Will it affect my placement in future? Please help i m really suffering from family issues and manymore from many year I need good job and college to stabilize my parents life !
Ans: Yes, if you qualify in JEE Main 2027 and meet the basic eligibility rules like age, number of attempts, and passing 12th, you can get admission to NITs, IIITs, and other colleges through centralized counseling. Having multiple attempts in 12th or taking gap years between 2021 and 2026 does not automatically stop you from getting admission. Colleges mainly check that you have passed 12th and meet the JEE cutoffs.

When it comes to job placements later, companies usually focus on your CGPA during your degree, projects, internships, coding skills, and communication—not on how many times you took 12th or any past gaps. You may need to explain any gap briefly in interviews in a positive and confident way. For now, focus on preparing well for JEE 2027, taking care of your mental health, and building a strong engineering profile. This will help you get into a good college and secure a stable job to support your parents. However, given your academic performance and background, it is highly important—and strongly advisable—to have 4–5 backup options rather than relying solely on JEE. All the Best for Your Prosperous Future!

I am an OBC-NCL candidate, In 12th Maharashtra HSC board exams, i scored 66% overall - 396/600 (322/500). I am looking into getting admission into government colleges (SPAs, NITs, etc) through JEE papar 2 b.arch and b.planning exam. Now, my problem is that JoSAA councilling requires atleast 75% in boards (from what i have read most commonly, although i am still a bit ambiguous about it), even if i did attempt an improvement exam, the results wont come until the councilling is over. Is admissions into SPA/NITs still possible?. Any kind of guidance is much appreciated
Ans: Admissions to NITs via JoSAA for B.Arch/B.Planning are not possible with your 66% in Class 12, even under the OBC-NCL category. JoSAA 2026 requires at least a 65% aggregate (or top 20 percentile in the Maharashtra HSC board) for OBC-NCL candidates applying to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, including B.Arch/B.Planning programs—your score falls short of this criterion. In contrast, SPAs (such as SPA Delhi, Vijayawada, and Bhopal) operate independently and admit candidates based on JEE Main Paper 2 scores plus a minimum of 50% aggregate in 10+2 (with at least 50% in PCM), as per Council of Architecture regulations. There is no 65% or 75% aggregate requirement. Only passing 12th grade with Mathematics is mandatory. Your 66% qualifies, but you should check the SPA brochures for OBC cutoff ranks, which typically hover around the 70-75 percentile for OBC candidates. Please note that improvement exam results will not help with JoSAA admissions since results are declared after counseling. Focus on targeting SPAs and aim for a high JEE Main Paper 2 score. Confirm the 2026 SPA eligibility criteria on their official websites. All the Best for Your Prosperous Future!

Hello sir, My son has qualified for JEE Advanced getting 99.82 percentile in Mains. He is interested in Electronics Engineering. His first preference is IIT-Madras followed by IIT-Bombay for which he is seriously preparing. Based on his JEE Mains rank, he is likely to get ECE in the following options NIT-Trichy/NIT-Suratkal, IIIT-Hyderabad, IIIT-Bangalore If he gets in the above IITs it is really good, but wanted to know the alternate options. 1. What would be the best option out of the above 4(NIT/IIIT). How would you rate the 4 in terms of preference? 2. If there is a possibility to get IIT-Hyderabad, how is it compared to the above? 3. Is it better to go for Integrated M.Tech option if available (in IIIT-B you need to select first and no flexibility, but I understand that there is an option to select later in IIIT-H and IITs)? Would it be better to take this option if he is interested in pursuing post graduate? He had the option of taking CSE as well, but he is not really interested in taking it up - his point is you can learn software coding anytime, but this is more interesting. Please suggest. Thanks
Ans: Bhanuprakash Sir, Before addressing your question, I would like to share my opinion: it is better to prefer ECE over CSE, aligning with your son's wishes. Regarding your question, IIT Hyderabad stands out as a better option compared to NITs and IIITs, provided he secures an EE/ECE-related branch. This is due to IIT Hyderabad’s strong brand value, robust research ecosystem, and an impressive official median CTC of ?28.99 LPA for EE in 2023–24. IIIT Hyderabad is also excellent for ECE due to its research-focused curriculum that emphasizes electronics, communications, signal processing, VLSI, and embedded systems early in the program. NIT Trichy and NITK serve as safer, broad-brand alternatives with consistently strong ECE placements. For instance, NIT Trichy has reported about 95–98% ECE undergraduate placement rates in recent years.

Regarding the choice of integrated M.Tech, it is advisable only if he is certain about pursuing research or higher studies. Otherwise, the 4-year B.Tech offers greater flexibility. All the Best for Your Son's Prosperous Future!

Sir,my self D.Durga dinesh I got CRL rank-86989 and OBC NCL rank -27k and i checked the IIITs in csab and I saw iiit dharawad which is DSAI last round closing rank is -86797 which is difference is 192 ranks only Can I get IIIT Dharawad DSAI there? And I checked DSAI 2024 closing rank which is 81K something in previous year it is increased about 5000 rank .In this year can I get DSAI? . Sir, please tell about DSAI course in IIIT dharawad which is good? And I saw cse branch closing rank in 2025 is 83k something and in 2024 is 74k nearly in last rounds .when this year also rank increases and get upto my rank . which branch should I choose CSE or DSAI .iam very confusing about this. Please answer my reply sir .iam waiting for your reply .
Ans: Durga Dinesh, With CRL 86,989 and OBC-NCL rank around 27,000, IIIT Dharwad DSAI through CSAB 2026 is possible but not guaranteed. Your observation is correct: 2025 CSAB Special Round closing for DSAI OBC-NCL was around CRL 86,797, so you are only about 192 ranks away. Since cutoffs can shift by a few hundred or few thousand depending on vacancies, withdrawals, and choice filling, you should definitely participate in CSAB and keep DSAI above lower-preference branches. CSAB officially publishes special-round opening/closing ranks after JoSAA vacancy rounds. Between CSE and DSAI, choose CSE first if available, because it is broader and keeps options open in software, AI, data, cybersecurity, and higher studies. Choose DSAI next because IIIT Dharwad’s curriculum includes data science/AI-focused learning and the institute reports decent placement figures, though 2025 data is still ongoing.

So your choice order can be CSE > DSAI > ECE at IIIT Dharwad. Also fill IIIT Kottayam/Kurnool/Ranchi/Una/Nagpur lower branches as backups along with 4-5 reputed Private Engineering Colleges as backup options.

Please note, success in any career depends less on the degree itself and more on how you invest your time. Focus on honing technical, communication, presentation, and leadership skills. Build a strong professional profile through projects and internships, actively network with alumni and industry experts, and maintain visibility on platforms like LinkedIn. Additionally, developing emotional intelligence (EQ) is crucial to navigate your career path with confidence. All the BEST for Your Prosperous Future!

Dear Sir, My son rank is 41000 in jee mains and DA-IICT has launched two BS - MS Dual program in IT and second in AI and Data science. What are chances to get this course ? What is the scope of this course? In can see now in job portals trend is changing and companies only ask for Bachelors/Master degree and need to focus on skills. Is it a good option?
Ans: Sachin Sir, At a CRL rank of 41,000, securing a seat in DA-IICT’s regular B.Tech programs is unlikely, as recent closing ranks for ICT, MnC, and VLSI are much higher. However, the institute’s newly launched 5-year BS–MS Dual Degree programs in IT and Data Science & AI offer a more realistic alternative. These programs admit students based on JEE Main Mathematics percentile or CUET scores, not overall CRL, and since 2026 is their first admission cycle, competition may be less intense.

This 5-year, 200-credit curriculum is ideal if your son is passionate about coding, AI, data science, cybersecurity, or research-oriented tech careers—provided the fee structure and longer commitment are manageable. It’s also wise to keep several reliable backup options rather than relying solely on DA-IICT.

Ultimately, success depends less on the degree and more on how your son invests his time: honing technical and communication skills, building a professional profile through projects/internships, networking with alumni and industry experts, maintaining visibility on platforms like LinkedIn, and developing emotional intelligence to confidently navigate his career path. All the BEST for Your Son's Prosperous Future!
