Ans: With JEE (Adv), your son hopes to get into lower-demand branches at newer IITs. With a JEE (Main) score, he can hope for CSE/ECE at NITs Tiruchirappalli/Surathkal/Warangal, etc. Choosing CSE at NITS can be a wiser decision than choosing lower branches at IITs. But if you or your son is interested in the IIT tag/brand, then choose the core branch aligned with his interests.
