Hello sir, I am having 2401 rank in jee advanced but I am not having 75% in class 12 boards and i belongs to obc category and i also having valid caste certificate of after 1 april. Am I eligible for josaa counselling and can I get any iit. I really need your help. Has anyone of your students got seat in iit with this condition
Ans: Krish, With a JEE Advanced rank of 2,401 (OBC-NCL) and a valid OBC certificate issued after April 1, you are eligible for JoSAA counselling. However, admission to IITs requires meeting the 75% aggregate or top 20 percentile in Class 12. For OBC-NCL, the minimum aggregate is 65%, but if your board’s top 20 percentile cutoff (e.g., CBSE OBC-NCL: 414/500) exceeds your score, IIT admission is unlikely. Verify your board’s 2024 top 20 percentile data (source ). If eligible, prioritize lower-tier IITs (e.g., IIT Jammu, Palakkad) via JoSAA. If not, target NITs/IIITs (e.g., NIT Trichy, IIIT Hyderabad) using your rank. Confirm eligibility using JoSAA’s board-specific percentile tables and explore state engineering colleges as backups. All the BEST for your Admission & a Prosperous Future!
