Sir, I'm in class 12th, appearing. Last evening I sat down to fill my form for JEE mains session 1 using digilocker. Now the problem is that I mistakenly used my father's phone number to fill up the form, and the digilocker linked wit his phone number contained his aadhar details and face and not mine. I actually skipped this step by mistake because I was an ICSE student till class 10 and hence unfamiliar with this system. Now the problem is that my initial form and credentials have been filled and accepted by the NTA, and hence I am not in a position to fill a duplicate form, and I haven't tried it either. In the Aadhar details window pane ,my father's photo instead of my photo is showing up. Hence there is a photo mismatch and I'm stuck on that step. I've talked to 3 NTA officials, and all of them are in dilemma whether I'd be able allowed or not. What should I do now ? Should I proceed with the mismatched picture of my father, and if I do so, is there any means of some application or mismatch form. Thanks a lot sir.
Ans: Arjun, Do not proceed with your father’s details, as it may cause biometric verification problems on exam day. Try these three solutions: (1) Since you have not paid the fee, leave this form incomplete, create your own DigiLocker account, and fill a fresh application; (2) Wait for the official correction window, expected from November 27–29, 2026, and check whether identity re-verification is allowed; (3) Send a written email with your application number and screenshots to jeemain(at)nta.ac.in explaining the mistake. Also, immediately visit an Aadhaar centre, explain the issue, and ask whether they can help resolve it. All The Best for Your Prosperous Future!

Ans: Do not proceed with your father's photograph or Aadhaar details without clarification from NTA. (1) Contact the official JEE Main helpdesk via email and a direct phone call immediately to explain the DigiLocker/Aadhaar mismatch. (2) Submit a written grievance through the official JEE Main website and retain the complaint number and screenshots. (3) Ask NTA whether your Aadhaar details can be corrected or whether an alternative identity-verification method is permitted. (4) Do not submit a duplicate application unless NTA explicitly instructs you to do so. Since your application has already been accepted, that does not necessarily mean the identity mismatch has been resolved.
My advice: Obtain written confirmation from NTA before proceeding. Do not assume that an application addressing a mismatch will automatically be accepted. Since your father's photo appears in the Aadhaar/DigiLocker verification step, email NTA and request a correction before the window opens.
Worst Case - If your form is rejected by all means, you have 2nd chance/attempt to appear for JEE (Mains). But resolve the mismatch with NTA as soon as possible.
