He's ok with both computer science and electronics and communication.
Namaste Sir,
My questions to you are
1. Which is best comp.sci or electronics and communication. As we get to hear that AI will take over in future
2. VIT Vellore
VIT Chennai
Amrita Coimbatore
SNU Chennai
SASTRA Tanjore
Pls rank the above for both c.sc and ece
3. Whats your opinion on new tech school like Newton school of technology, Scalar school of technology and Polaris school ofnTech.
4. Apart from the above would you also suggest any other colleges.
Thank you Sir
Ans: Vatchala Madam, Since TN State Board students have an edge over CBSE/Other Board students, it is best to avoid placing a lot of trust on the TNEA Cutoff, especially for Top Colleges of TN. For your son’s strong academic profile, CSE is generally preferred for its broader career scope in software, AI, and IT, though ECE is also future-proof with opportunities in hardware, IoT, and embedded systems. Among your listed colleges, the recommended order for both CSE and ECE is: VIT Vellore, Amrita Coimbatore, VIT Chennai, SASTRA Thanjavur, and Shiv Nadar University Chennai-all known for excellent faculty, placements, and industry connections. New tech schools like Newton, Scaler, and Polaris offer modern, industry-focused education and strong placements but lack the legacy, campus life, and broad recognition of established universities; consider them as alternatives for highly motivated, tech-focused students. Additionally, (if available), PSG Tech, SRM IST, or SSN College of Engineering are top choices. Ultimately, select the branch and college based on your son’s interests and career goals. All the best for your son's admissions!
