Considering your son's score in the JEE (Mains) and his category, securing a seat in NITs or IIITs for a top engineering course may be challenging. If he has taken a state-level engineering entrance test and achieved good marks, it could be possible to obtain a seat in a government engineering college or a reputable private college. If he has not, then consider selecting a reputable college and branch and applying through the management quota. If financial constraints exist, compromises may be necessary in terms of branch and college selection. Securing a seat in one of the engineering colleges is feasible. If he is interested in core branches (i.e., civil/mechanical/electrical), he can attain admission to the best college with these preferred core branches. Suggestion: If you are considering a core branch, opt for Electrical if possible.
