Hi sir, I got 78 K rank in VITEEE. I need CSE 52.7 %ile (7 lakh CRL). Also got 83 %ile in keam Als ohabe 94.6 % in Boards

Ans: Mohammed, With a VITEEE rank of 78,000, admission to CSE at VIT Vellore or Chennai is not feasible, as their cutoffs for CSE are below 25,000 even for lower categories. However, you can consider other branches like Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil at VIT campuses where cutoffs are higher. Your KEAM 83 percentile and 94.6% board marks are strong but insufficient for CSE in top Kerala government colleges, which require ranks below 1,000. Private colleges or less competitive branches remain options. Recommendation: Focus on securing admission in branches with higher cutoffs at VIT or other private colleges, and consider branch change options later if possible. Also, explore private engineering colleges with good placements and affordable fees. Strengthen coding and project skills to improve career prospects regardless of branch. Hope this guide helps! All the best for your admission and a bright future!

Ans: If you are keen for CSE only but flexible with other options, you can try for Sathyabhama | Sastra | Karunya Universities in TN, the applications for which are still open (Source: Their Recent Advertisements in The Times of India). You Can Check.
