Hi Dr. Nidhi.... can physio treatment completely cure Trapezius pain ?

Ans: Dear Trupti,
Yes definitely physiotherapy can cure trapezius pain completely. It is important to know the cause of the pain. Is it coming from a pinched nerve in the cervical area or trapezius muscle spasm due wrong posture etc.
In physiotherapy various techniques like Ultrasound, dry needling, myofascia release, cupping, IASTM can greatly help in relieving trapezius pain.

Hi mam pls confirm if physiotherapy is helpful in TMJ DISORDER

Ans: Hello Sameer,
Yes physiotherapy can help a lot in TMJ disorder. You need to of course rule out if it is coming from any dental issue by visiting a dentist.
If dental part okay then physiotherapist needs to evaluate. At times we need to release certain neck muscle triggers or triggers in the scalp and jaw area to relieve the pain. There are certain simple jaw exercises that can help too.

I have been acute sciatica problem since last 5 months. I have pain in my calf muscle can I get relief from Yoga?

Ans: Hi Vikas, Many people find sciatica relief with yoga, as certain yoga stretches relieve the pressure felt on the nerve. These include Pigeon Pose, Downward Facing Dog, Cobra, Seated spinal twist, child pose, and also standing forward bend. Do note that individual experience tends to vary, so please listen to the body and don't force any stretches that don't feel comfortable. All the best!

Hi doctor, I am having severe trapezius pain..left more than right shoulder. Took many painkillers and physio has aggravated the pain in neck also. Right now taking mobizox and stopped physio. MRI has revealed light tendinosis and all docs saying surgery not required. My vitamin d is fine and b 12 is just about ok. I had a spike in tsh levels for thyroid. Doing walking and drinking water daily, but shoulder pain not reducing from 3 months. I can’t exercise due to pain. Please help.

How did your pain start? Did you do some heavy lifting, slept on a different kind of pillow or some emotional stress? How much is your pain on scale of 1 to 10? What makes the pain worse, what makes it better?
What physiotherapy treatment did they give you? Did they do techniques like dry needling, cupping therapy, myofascial release or taping?

Its been one year and 2 months not yet recovered from disc bulges the physiotherapist informs it is a muscle knot and restricts to do only upper body exercises which includes low weights chests and stretching no squats no cross fit no leg extensions and no back extensions.he sounds knowledgeable however please suggest

Ans: Hello Subhash. Sorry to hear about your condition. I have a little different view point . I suggest taking one more opinion from a different Physiotherapist. It is hypothesized that nearly 70% of lumbar herniated nucleus pulposus (HNP) undergo the resorption to a significant degree after acute herniation. From my perspective back extension is most important exercise.
