I am a 11th group A student and I want to do cyber security engineering course after 12th grade in canada. Please let me know what all tests i should prepare for and also about visa stuff.

Ans: Hello Krupa,

To start with, thank you for contacting us. There are a few key measures you may take as an 11th grade student interested in pursuing a career in cyber security engineering in Canada, to prepare for your future studies and the visa process. Mentioned below is a list of things to think about in general:

1. Academic Planning: You will need to complete your high school education and get a diploma or an equivalent degree to enrol in a cyber security engineering program in Canada. Strive for high marks, particularly in courses like Physics, Computer Science, and Maths that are related to the study of cyber security engineering.

2. Entrance Tests: You may be required to take entrance examinations, depending on the institution or college you wish to attend. To determine your level of English language ability, some Canadian colleges may ask you to take standardised examinations like the SAT or the CAEL examination. Find out the entrance requirements for the universities you want to attend and plan accordingly.

3. Look Up Universities/Colleges: Look for Canadian universities or colleges that offer cyber security engineering programs and meet their admissions standards. When making a choice, also take into account factors like the location, tuition costs, course offerings, staff credentials, and campus amenities.

4. Visa Procedure: You will require a Study Permit to enrol in classes in Canada as an international student and can apply for the same through the Canadian Government’s Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website. You will be required to provide documentation including relevant financial records, a current passport, and evidence of acceptance from a Canadian university.

5. English Language Proficiency Tests: You might need to take a standardised English language test, such as the TOEFL or the IELTS, if you are not a native English speaker in order to prove that you are proficient in the language. To satisfy the language competency standards of the institution you have chosen, prepare for these exams.

Start your planning well in advance and do extensive research on the admission standards, visa application process, and other pertinent information to guarantee a successful and efficient application process. Wishing you well as you pursue your Canadian cyber security engineering degree!
