hi! im currently in 12th grade and im very confused whether i should appear for jee or for sat...im not so interested in being an engineer and want to become a data analyst.. but some people tell me that my career choice is only wise if i would like to pursue it for masters

Ans: Hi,
Becoming a data analyst is a great option. Data analysis is an important field with growing demand and opportunities. It's true that having a master's degree in data analytics can give you an edge in the job market, but it's not a requirement. You can still start your career as a data analyst with a bachelor's degree and gain experience on the job.

Ans: Selecting a specialisation in Computer Science is a tough decision. While all the specialisations have immense career potential and shall thrive in the future, it is also crucial to gauge your child's interest. I recommend that your son should research about these topics individually and understand what all fields he finds interesting. If he is still not able to get clarity on his interests, he should join colleges that allow him to choose these specialisations after some time into the degree. This shall allow him to gain exposure in all of the fields and gauge his interests accordingly.

Sir, I am a West Bengal resident and my son will be appearing his 12th board exam on 2024. He has good interest in computer and wants to pursue with it. For that he is preparing for jee mains and wbjee. My query is if he can't do well in these exams so that he can get in good NITs or any govt institutes in CSE or ECE branch, (affording good private college fees is beyond my capacity), then alternately which branch is better to pursue in graduation so that he can do something of his interest in field of computer in future? B.SC in Computer science or B.SC in Mathematics or Physics from any reputed college??(obviously depending on his boards result)

Ans: Hello Arindam,
If he has a good interest in computers, then ask him to focus on his studies more seriously as he has 1 year in hand.
Admissions in good NITs or any good Govt. Engineering college requires a really good rank and there is no scope without it.

As you said, private college is beyond your means then he has to pursue B.Sc in computer science with additional certification courses from outside. And finding placements would be hard.

it would be good if he pursues B.Tech or B.E.

Ans: Difficult to predict the future. If tourism picks up then there is a chance for the hotel management industry to do well. But can simultaneously upskill your self by doing different courses that would help you in your future career.

Hello Career Gurus, I have a PGDBM which is pretty dated back to the year 2006. I find that the entire canvas has changed with the digital revolution making me somewhat out of place. Although, i managed to traverse successfully career-wise and secured management role but sometimes I face self-doubt whether I would be able ro sustain myself in this back-biting and nasty politics driven corporate world. I have jettisoned plans several times to go fof masters into enterpreneural management or data analytics. I am worried about the next step. Should I take a sabbatical considering that I have the usual middle-class constraints spelled out as obligation to family esp. ageing parents with my better-half playing stalemate on her commitment towards helping me and financial liabilities as well. What should I do ? Please suggest. Thank you !

Ans: You can always do part time courses along with your job and then scout for relevant jobs. A lot of certificate courses are available. Even top B schools do conduct short term management courses which is another option to look out for. Leaving your job is definitely not recommended. About taking sabbatical, it will depend on how will it affect your promotion in your company.

Hi My son from few days has abdomen pain and vomiting tendency. He don't eat due to the above problem due to which he has become very lean and thin. He has lost considerable amount of weight. We have consulted a physician and he has asked us to carry out SGPT test. The outcome of which is high and so we are very concerned about his health.His age is only 12 years. What should we do in this case?

Ans: You need to consult a pediatrician or Pediatric gastroenterologist. SGPT being high means the liver is inflamed which could be due to an infection like hepatitis or some metabolic issue.
