I AM 49 YRS OLD 6 FEET TALL & MY WEIGHT IS 108 KGS ,I AM DIABETIC ON INSULIN TWICE A DAY, MY RECENT HBA1C READING WAS 8.9, KINDLY GUIDE HOW TO GET BRING DOWN MY SUGAR LEVELS & WEIGHT AS WELL ,I AM PURE VEGETARIAN.

Ans: As per your height and weight measurements, you are overweight. Follow a dietary regimen that includes high protein, low carbohydrate and low fat. Include foods with high fiber and complex carbohydrates like fruits, vegetables, millets, lentils, etc. Adopt a fitness schedule which include cardio and weight training to lose body fat percentage and increase muscle mass. This will help lower your blood glucose levels, improve Insulin resistance and bring down your weight.

HI KOMAL I AM LAKSHMI 67 YEARS OLD. I HAVE BEEN FOUND TO HAVE TYPE 2 DIABETES SINCE LAST TWO YEARS. I HAVE UNDERGONE ANGIOPLASTY AND BY PASS SURGERY ALSO IN THE LAST TWO YEARS. I AM TAKING PROPER MEDICENES AS ADVISED BY DOCTORS, PROPER DIET AND REST, YOGA, MEDITATION, EXERCISE AND WALKING. STILLL MY BLOOD SUGAR FASTING IS ABOVE 130 AND PP ABOVE 180. HBA1C IS 6.7. HEIGHT IS 150CM AND WEIGHT IS 60KG HOW DO I REDUCE MY BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS AND HBA1C ?

Ans: Blood sugar levels can be lowered gradually by lifestyle modifications. Ensure your diet consists of more complex carbohydrates like whole grains, fruits, vegetables, etc., low fat foods, good protein sources like low fat dairy products, eggs, lean meat, pulses and legumes, etc. Avoid sweets, bakery products, chocolates, savories, carbonated beverages, alcohol, etc. These will spike your blood sugar levels. Focus on portion control and follow a regular exercise regimen.

Sir, i m 59 year old weighing 70 kgs..our family history father and sister ate diabetic.. I was earlier 94kgs but with exercise.and diet brought it diwn to 70kgs..further i m unable to reduce weight..my HBA1C IS 5.8 PRESENTLY..what should i do to reduce it further..i eat millets..avoid sugar..walk daily ..do meditation..i m worried..kindly answer

Sir, I weigh 70 kgs..height 5feet 4 inches...last reading of. Hba1c was 5.8..i eat millets , walk daily, avoid sugar..very rarely take sweet.. Kindly advice how to reduce hba1c further I m unable to reduce weight further My father and sister are diabetic

Sir my daughter scored 73.8 in 10+2 but maths percentile is very low @ 46. She wish to appear in BITSAT. Can she be eligible if she improves her score in improvement exam to be held in July by CBSE?

Ans: Eligibility for BITS Pilani Admission:
Minimum Requirement: Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (for engineering courses) and secured at least 75% aggregate marks in these three subjects or be among the top 20 percentile in their respective board exams.

BITS also requires minimum 60% marks in each of these subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).
Yes! If she improves her aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics to 75% or above, she will meet the minimum eligibility criteria for BITSAT.
But my suggestion is to avoid engineering, because almost all streams in engineering require B.Sc. level math.
