Ans: Your son has a reasonable chance of getting ECE at some NITs/NE-region institutes or other government engineering colleges, especially through the home-state/region quota and later counseling rounds, though institute quality will vary. Keep a close eye on the counselling process and fill out the preference order very carefully. On the safer side, keep another option ready as a backup.

Ans: Based on your daughter's score, CSE/IT/AI-ML in NITs or IIITs is very difficult in regular JoSAA, even with the MP home-state/female benefit. Still, fill JoSAA + CSAB special rounds very broadly. In CSAB, try GFTIs and lower-demand branches first; CSE-related branches may be possible only if vacant seats remain. For MP, her best practical route is MP DTE counselling for colleges like UIT RGPV Bhopal, JEC Jabalpur, SGSITS/other state colleges if the branch cutoff permits, plus private options. Other backup options she must have for CSE/AI-ML/IT are LNCT, Oriental, Medicaps, Acropolis, IES, Bansal, SAGE, or nearby private universities. Ans: Chances at top government colleges for CSE/Electrical/MCSE are unlikely, i.e., slim or zero. But you may have chances at lower-demand state government engineering colleges and some less-competitive GFTIs/spot rounds.

Ans: You have not mentioned your daughter's home state to answer precisely for private college options in and around your state. For regular JoSAA, CSE/MnC in good NITs/IIITs may be difficult, but she should still fill lower NITs, newer IIITs and GFTIs broadly. Best targets are NIT Agartala, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Puducherry for Electrical/ECE/core branches, and GFTIs for CSE/IT. In CSAB Special Rounds, all ranks are considered again for vacant seats, so she should not miss it. For CSE-focused backup, it's better to also apply to state counselling and 4-5 private colleges in and around your State. All the BEST for Your Daughter's Prosperous Future!

Ans: Chances are almost Nil with NITs/IIITs. But you may keep a slim hope only for very low-demand branches in far lower-cutoff NITs during CSAB special rounds, not something to rely on realistically. Better to explore more options other than NITs or IIITs

Ans: It is better to choose a reputable NIT/IIIT over a typical private college, even with a non-core branch, unless your son is specifically committed to CSE/ECE. Choose a private college if it is highly rated!

Ans: You have realistic chances for CSE in several mid-tier IIITs and possibly lower-cutoff NIT CSE/IT in later rounds, and CSAB is absolutely worth trying because CSE seats often open up there, but treat it as an upgrade opportunity, not a guarantee of a “better” college. It would be better to keep a backup option ready from a safer point of view.

Ans: If possible, prefer CSE @ HBTU. Choose NIT Chemical only if you specifically prefer brand tag/core engineering over the branch. The final choice will be yours.
