Hi I am holding debt mutual fund Bought in 2017 for rs 50 lac now current value ia 75 lac If i sell @ invest all 75 lac rs in purchase of plot then is tax become zero

Ans: You may avail exemption u/s 54-F & invest in residential house property, subject to the following conditions :
01. You will have to invest total amount of Rs.75.00 (L).
02. You will have to construct the plot with in a period of 3 years from the date of Sale of MFs.

Ans: 01. Under present provisions of Income Tax Act, you may opt any of the options (in case of Long Term Capital Gains), as under :
02. (01). Tax Rate 12.50% without indexation or
03. (02). Tax Rate of 20% with Indexation (Indexation from 01.04.2001).
04. You may take a Certificate from an Architect of the value of Flats, as on 01.04.2001 & adopt this as Cost of Flats for calculation of LTCGs.
05. You may calculate your tax liability under both options & may opt for the tax regime, where tax liability is minimum.

Ans: In such a case, your tax liability shall be reduced considerably. Taking Rs.5.00 (L) as Cost on 01.04.2001, your tax payable shall be less with Indexation. It is difficult to provide you exact calculation of tax, since many other factors are involved, like Income from Other Sources, Tax Savings & Other Deductions etc.
I suggest you to proceed with valuation of flat at Rs.5.00 (L).

Sir, I am a software employee currently earning 25L per annuam i have started invested in mutual funds, invested around 15L lumpsum in different funds such as 4.5L debt 10.5L in Equity (3.5L Large, 3L Midcap, 2L Smallcap, 2L Flexicap) if I have STP of 20K per month from ICICI Debt fund to ICICI Bluechip, and another STP from ICICI Bluechip to ICICI Debt fund, will I be able to overcome or avoid tax when I withdraw my money to buy a house after 15 years of 2 crores? assume if the gains are less than 1 lakh per annum will it apply to other fund manager as well as I have invested in different funds as well like ICICI, TATA, SBI?

Dear Sir/Madam, I am currently a 1st year UG student studying engineering in Sairam Engineering College, But there the lack of exposure and strict academics feels so rigid and I don't like it that. It's like they don't gaf about skills but just wants us to memorize things and score a good CGPA, the only skill they want is you to memorize things and pass, there's even special class for students who don't perform well in academics and it is compulsory for them to attend or else the student and his/her parents needs to face authorities who lashes out. My question is when did engineering became something that requires good academics instead of actual learning and skill set. In sairam they provides us a coding platform in which we need to gain the required points for each semester which is ridiculous cuz most of the students here just look at the solution to code instead of actual debugging. I am passionate about engineering so I want to learn and experiment things instead of just memorizing, so I actually consider dropping out and I want to give jee a try and maybe viteee , srmjeee But i heard some people say SRM may provide exposure but not that good in placements. I may not be excellent at studies but my marks are decent. So gimme some insights about SRM and recommend me other colleges/universities which are good at exposure

Mandatory coding points → students copy solutions

Copying ≠ learning

Debugging & thinking are missing

This is pseudo-skill education — it looks modern but produces shallow engineers.

The fact that you noticed this in 1st year already puts you ahead of 80% students.

Should you DROP OUT and prepare for JEE / VITEEE / SRMJEEE?

Although VIT/SRM is better than Sairam Engineering College, but you may face the same problem. You will not face this type of problem only in some top IITs, but getting seat in those IITs will be difficult.
Instead of dropping immediately, consider:
