Hi My CTC is 15 lakh how much tax benefit I get from new tax slab

Ans: The tax you save would depend on the deductions that you make (the old regime will lower taxable income for permissible deductions and thus have a lower tax to that extent). Most of these deductions are not available in the new tax regime.
If you claim no deductions other than standard deduction, the tax saving comes to about Rs 1 lakh under the new regime. If you claim Sec 80C and NPS, then new regime would be better by Rs 39,000

I want to know what are the tax benefits we can take in the New Tax Slab? If I opt new Tax slab were 5 Lakhs Income we have to pay No Tax for April 2020 To March 2021. Is there any Income Tax benefits we can Take above 5 Lakhs?

Ans: As per Budget 2020, if an assessee opts for the new tax regime, one will have to forego around 7o deductions & exemptions. This includes major deductions like Sec.80C, standard deduction of Rs.50K, HRA, etc.

You can still claim following exemptions under the New tax Regime:

Conveyance allowance received to meet the conveyance expenditure incurred as part of the employment.
Any compensation received to meet the cost of travel on tour or transfer.
Daily allowance received to meet the ordinary regular charges or expenditure you incur on account of absence from his regular place of duty.
Transport allowances in case of a specially-abled person.

I'm a contract employee of Corporate company. My CTC is 15.5 Lakh. Please give me details of I.Tax of Old and New regime.

Ans: Even if Person avail major tax benefits (Deduction of housing loan repayment of 2 lacs, Life insurance premium/Tax saver MF 1.5 lacs , Mediclaim 20k) and earn salary income of Rs15,50,000, new tax regime will be beneficial and standard deduction is available. For salary of 15,50,000, tax liability under old regime will be 151500 plus applicable cess and under new regime 150000 plus applicable cess.

Ans: Person having taxable income of 21 lakhs and take deduction less than 4.25 lacs from housing loan/80C/80D, can opt for new tax regime as new slab rate is likely to be beneficial as per budget proposed for FY 2023-24

I am having about 2 lakh in my PF out of which, ,I am allowed to borrow 1.5 lakh for housing purpose. After borrowing 1.5 lakh I am willing to pay the amount back to PF in small installments every month other than employee contribution. But my employer never entertain the voluntary contribution. Is there any other way to return back the amount borrowed from Provident Fund.

Ans: Hello;

You may consider it as partial withdrawal from EPF for house purchase.

No need to repay it. It's your own money which you are allowed to partially withdraw subject to certain conditions.

However your PF kitty will need to be replenished through regular contributions.

It is fundamentally a good stock however my view is that in the short to medium term (2-5 yrs) it may test your patience with not much movement anticipated however for a long term horizon(5 yr+) outlook is quite positive.

I am 57 years old, have 3 cr in stocks and mutual funds, and I intend to invest another 2 cr because I make 1 cr a year. After reiteration, my monthly expenses would be 2.0 lacs. Could you please tell me if this is enough money to retire?

Ans: Hello;

You will need a minimum corpus of 6 Cr to generate post-tax monthly income of 2.1 L+ through annuity.(6% annuity rate considered)

After fulfilling monthly expenses you may do a monthly sip of around 10-15 K in a relatively low risk hybrid fund.

This can grow into a corpus of 40-60 L in 15 years which may be used to enhance annuity income for inflation.(9% returns considered)

Hi, My age is 42, salaried 1.5 lakhs per month in chennai, 2 school going kids. Own appartment worth 50 lakhs-- 8 yrs to complete the loan. also own Ancestor property 2 houses in same city. Wife working as teacher in small school. Regarding expenses, home loan 45k, house hold expense 50k, gold -7K, Mutual funds-- 15K, Shares--10K, NPS--- 5K. Till date my total savings is equity portfolio 21lakhs, Mutual fund-6 lakhs, EPF - around 23 lakhs i plan to retire in next 10-12 years, expecting my corpus atleast 3 to 5 crores, can you suggest best way to realign my portfolio Tnx in advance

Return of Capital is more important than return on Capital.

Ans: Yes after introduction of corporate tax, for future period they will not provide TRC. In case of our client, we have received TRC in March 2024.
