My daughter 18 yrs and a medical student is facing severe female pattern hair loss. We have consulted a few doctors, but there is no improvement. We have done a few tests like Vit D, Iron, Sugar, U/S, Thyroid, etc, and found normal. We have applied serum and tabs but there is no improvement. Could you please help us suggest the remedy or name expertise who deals with the same issues?

Ans: Please check her Hb. Iron deficiency Anaemia is one of the most common cause for hair loss.

My friend's daughter is about 17 yrs old and she is about 68kg weight and has developed thick hair on her cheeks and chin for the last 2 yrs now and she is also not started her regular periods. Her parents are consulting doctors but there is no improvement. Could you please suggest and also let me know if this can be completely eliminated.

Ans: She needs to be evaluated for Polycystic ovarian disease. Please consult an endocrinologist

My 14 year old son is having patches due to hairfall on head Alopecia Areta etc since last 7 years. As of now huge hairloss has happened and it affected almost total head which is highest in 7 years. During last 7 hears we had treatment from various Alopathic , Ayurvedic, Naturopathy doctors Skin specialists, Spirutual, Tribal etc. But we are very unfortunate. Please suggest us best treatment which may include diet, medicines, exercise etc. We also found some calcium, Vita D, B-12 etc which might have been covered. He has also little weak concentration, eyes blinking issue. We stopped higher level of medicines to continue for long as they contained steroids etc . Please give me detailed and manifold guidance.

Ans: The Usual treatment of Alopecia Areata is minoxidil, steroid injections and Vitamin D, B12 supplements. The next line of therapy is Immuno suppressants at low doses which can be tried in refractory cases. PRP treatment can also be tried. Stem cell treatment is also promising, but that can be done only as a part of a research. Give sometime and try and decrease the stress.

I am a 12th student now in state board of tamil Nadu and I am a government school student what is the minimum requirement for me to join mbbs in AFMC medical College

Ans: The following requirements are mandatory for admission to AFMC.

Age: 17-24yrs
Academic qualitfication: FIRST ATTEMPT with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Bio-technology taken simultaneously and securing not less than 60% of the aggregate marks in these three science subjects taken together and not less than 50% marks in English and 50% marks in each of the science subjects. They must have also passed an examination in Mathematics of the tenth standard.
Candidates seeking admission for MBBS course at AFMC Pune will have to mandatorily qualify the NEET UG 2024 Examination conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). 11. Eligible candidates who are interested to join AFMC, Pune to pursue the MBBS course will have to mandatorily register and apply for AFMC, Pune on DGHS

The shortlisted candidates will be called for screening which comprises of Test of English Language and Reasoning (ToELR), Psychological Assessment Test (PAT), Interview and Medical Examination at AFMC, Pune.

ToELR & PAT - Test of English Language and Reasoning (ToELR) in the form of Computer Based Test (CBT) and also Psychological Assessment Test (PAT) to be conducted at AFMC, Pune only for candidates shortlisted for interview. (t) Written Examination Score - Score obtained in NEET (UG) 2024 (720 marks) added to ToELR Score (80 marks) divided by 4 to get a score out of 200.
