I am 69 year old male. I have been taking echo aspirin 75mg since last 20 years. From a year onwards I am taking the combination of Atorvastacin 10mg and echoaspirin 75 mg. Right now I am at UK and has a shortage of the medicine for 10 days. Kindly advice, can I replace echoaspirin with locally available aspirin for these 10 days? I have the stock of Atorva 10mg(plane).

Greetings Sir I can substitute one costly brand medicine to other if molecule and salt are same. Honestly to save money . All lesser costly medicines are available online .chemists keep costly medicine only

Ans: Unfortunately all drug companies are not the same. If the generic brand is of a well known company , you can substitute, I would be reluctant to use drugs from an unknown company.

Respected Sir Is it true people who are above age 40 actually require Statins not Aspirin . My Dr said the same wrote ROZUCOR one tablet in night which is purely Statins . Earlier I was taking Ecosprin AV 75

Ans: Not everybody above the age of 40 needs either of these drugs . But yes if the statin has been prescribed in order to prevent heart disease because your cholesterol levels are high, aspirin is no longer recommended along with a statin for primary prevention of heart disease or stroke.
