am a 45-year-old working professional in the media field, which can be quite stressful. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and cholesterol issues. Unfortunately, I stopped taking my blood pressure medication without consulting my doctor about a year ago. Occasionally, I experience dizziness and blurred vision. I am unsure whether this is due to an increase in high blood pressure or simply weakness. Could you please provide guidance on my situation?

Ans: Blood pressure medicine should be started with proper evaluation. And once started it cannot be stopped abruptly.
Definitely the symptoms you have has to do with your blood pressure fluctuation and it's impact on the retina.
Get yourself monitored 24hrsthroughambulatory BP measurement and Consult your doctor to restart the medication

Hi, This is Anand. I am 39+ now. Recently 4 months back I got severe headache and visited to hospital. My BP shown 180/130. After this I did health check up and found Cholesterol >350 and B12 very low. I started medicines, diet, walk and now my cholesterol is within the limit and B12 also good. I am measuring BP now a days in home it is showing 140/100 to 130/90. BP measured by doctor is 130/90 and BP medicines going on now a days. My question - How I can come out of medicines and BP ?

Ans: Hello Anand. Controlling BP is a multipronged effort. If you are overweight, reduce weight to achieve a BMI of 23-24. Try and keep a good routine and diet with reduced salt intake. Exercise moderately about 45 min daily which should be mainly cardiovascular exercise and only 1-2 days of strength training. Try and adopt some stress busting measures like yoga, breathing exercises, developing a hobby etc. Ensure good 7-8 hours of good quality sleep every day.

Hello Doctor. My name is Anil and I am based out in Delhi NCR. A few years back, I visited a hospital and just out of curiosity, got my blood pressure checked and the upper one was around 150. Doctor advised me to take precautions. A few days back, I again visited a hospital with my wife and this time as well, got my blood pressure checked and this time it came around 190. Can you please advise how serious it is. and if it can be cured by changing lifestyle etc. or a proper medication is required. I sometime feels dizziness, sleepiness and feverish.

Ans: This level of BP needs good control quickly. Please see a MD physician immediately and start medication while also starting lifestyle modifications. Slowly you can reduce the medicines and continue just lifestyle changes. Also you need to be evaluated to check for any effects of the high BP that have already occurred.

I am 46 years old male. I have been on blood pressure medicine from the last 23 years. Now I am on Telmasartan 80 + CT 6.25 in morning and Nebimac 2.5 at evening. My systolic pressure is very high usually and is out of control. Yesterday the first reading was 169/86, 2ND reading 151/84 and third reading was 153/82 taken within 5 minutes duration. It seems to be fluctuating. Few years ago I had echo it was found normal. My creatinine level is within limit but on borderline. My job is sedentary and I do have fatty lever. At times my head reels a lot and i feel dizzy. What should I do?

Ans: Reeling and feeling dizzy could be due to the sedantary desk work and postural reasons
Please practise regular exercises for upper and lower body

Sir , i am 57yrs old. within 1 yr i am retired. So pls guide me , how i invest 30 laks in swp system and how many return from here . Also request you suggest the mf name where i invest.

Ans: You can invest 30 Lac as lumpsum in conservative hybrid(debt oriented) fund. Based on 5 year return yardstick Kotak hybrid debt fund and SBI Conservative hybrid fund are the 2 recommendations.

It will be better if you stay invested in this fund for 5 year and let the corpus grow. After 5 years you can expect a corpus of around 50 Lacs(10%+ return assumed)

Then you can start your SWP at the rate of say 5% per year which will translate into monthly payout of around 21K.

However if you need immediate pension then you can invest in PO monthly income scheme(7.4% rate;5yr tenure) upto 9 L in your name and another 9 L in the name of your spouse or other family member. It is a safe scheme since backed by GOI. For the balance 12 L you can do 3 FDs of 4 L each in reputed banks.

My date of exit is wrongly put in epf account. I will try to give joint declaration form, but my compay liquidator not give sign. My company pay(epf payment) only 2013. But i am regin in 2015. I am 59 year old. Give solutio n.

Ans: If your employer has not made the statutory EPF contributions then you can file a legal case.

For wrong DOE, joint declaration form is the right way, if the employer is not co-operating then you can talk to EPF officials about the same with documentary evidence. They may consider it, else you can file online grievance through EPFO grievance management system.

Hello Mam, I'm 49 years male, having Triglycerides -242, LDL Cholestrol - 96 , VLDL Cholestrol - 49, HDL Cholestrol - 43. Apart from that I have Thyroid T3 - 2.97, T4 - 0.93 and TSH - 4.83. I have been doing morning brisk walk for about 40 minutes and doing pranayam (majorly kapal bhati, kumbhak, anulom vilom, bhramri (8-10 minutes) for 45 min daily for the past 2 months without break. My question to you is , first- by doing brisk morning walk and pranayam daily will my cholestrol and thyroid level will be within the range. Secondly I get iritiated and lose my temper quite often, do the above said exercise will help me in controlling my anger / irritiability and quitting use of tobacco. Please help me.
