My son has secured Vit Vellore CSE seat but if we get CSE in nit NAGPUR (HS) or Surat in csab round, should we switch or should we continue at Vit Vellore?
Ans: Devesh Sir, Both VNIT Nagpur and SVNIT Surat surpass VIT Vellore in core CSE metrics despite VIT’s strong brand. VNIT Nagpur’s CSE achieved a three-year average placement consistency exceeding 90%, with 60.9% placed in 2025 (down from 84.6% in 2023) and average packages around ?19.8 LPA. Its CSE labs include dedicated AI, cloud, networks, and data-analytics facilities within a Siemens-backed Industry 4.0 CoE. SVNIT Surat’s CSE reports nearly 100% placement consistency and an 18.3 LPA average package in 2023, supported by over 300 recruiters, central computing and nanofabrication labs, and a 250-acre green campus with modern student amenities. VIT Vellore’s CSE yields a 9.90 LPA average package with 80–90% placement consistency, 632 recruiters, and extensive AI/ML labs across its 372-acre campus.

Recommendation: If you want a better average salary, more reliable job placements, and better research facilities that match industry needs, consider switching to VNIT Nagpur CSE or SVNIT Surat CSE (first choice: VNIT Nagpur, then SVNIT Surat). Continue at VIT Vellore only if global branding, multidisciplinary campus life, or proximity factors outweigh pure CSE outcomes. IMPORTANT: Please check the Refund Policy/Last Date to Withdraw the VIT Seat, if you get confirmed seat allotment from VNIT/SVNIT. All the BEST for Admission & a Prosperous Future!
