Dr Dipankar Dutta is an associate professor in the computer science and engineering department at the University Institute of Technology, the University of Burdwan, West Bengal.
He has 27 years of experience and his interests include AI, data science, machine learning, pattern recognition, deep learning and evolutionary computation.
Aside from his responsibilities at the college, he also delivers lectures and conducts webinars.
Dr Dipankar has published 25 papers in international journals, written book chapters, attended conferences, served as a board observer for WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) exams and as a counsellor for engineering college admissions in West Bengal. He helps students choose the right college and stream for undergraduate, masters and PhD programmes.

What are the possibilities and prospects of going into healthcare data analytics after a mbbs/ bds degree? What procedures & additional courses need to be done for it in India and abroad?

Ans: Healthcare Data Analytics is an emerging and valuable field that combines medical knowledge with data science. You can do M.Tech in Health Informatics, Biostatistics, or Data Science. Institutes like IITs. IIT Chennai is conducting an online course on DS. Johns Hopkins University, Harvard University, University of California, and University College London are very good institutions in this domain.

My niece want to pursue a career in Data Analytics. She has done B.Com. recently from Delhi University. Please advise which courses she need to pursue to build a career in Data analytics.

Ans: Hello! A career in data analytics is bright as it's a growing field. She should look at courses that are currently available on YouTube and similar platforms which are quick to consume. This will give her a sense of what she is stepping into, post which if she is looking at a formal education then she could look at Msc programs in Data Analytics which are credit bearing and would require her to devote about 10-12 months to study/work alongside studying.

I did btech in cse in a state government college but after graduation I thought of preparing for cat and other MBA exam, I reached till interview of ximb but was rejected at last and current job market seems to be down , I'm thinking of doing a data analytics course in bengaluru/Hyderabad? Ans: One option is to try for CAT again. You already have learning experience from your first attempt and that could help you to perform better in the 2nd attempt. Can do a course simultaneously or can do a job in Data Analytics. When you decide your career path try to see the demand in the industry as well as what you are interested in.

Hello everyone, I am completing my MBBS degree in May from India, but I have realized that clinical practice is not the path I wish to pursue. I am exploring alternative career options and have come across data science. I would appreciate your insights on the following: 1. What is the scope of data science, especially for someone with a medical background? 2. How should I proceed? Should I pursue courses or degrees in India, or would studying abroad be more beneficial? 3. As you know, medicine is a skill-oriented field that allows you to carry out your daily activities independently. After completing your studies, you have various options: you can work for someone else, engage in social work by helping those in need, or excel in research within your own area of expertise.

Instead of focusing on an IT-based career, I recommend completing your master's degree in a non-clinical field—preferably pharmacology. This will enable you to gather important data related to medical affairs and advance your career. There is a significant amount of data that is missing or requires interpretation to further research.
My suggestion is not to pursue Data Science right now. Hope this answers your query. If you still want to pursue, consider doing the course online. This is the best option.

Hello sir, Recently we sell the property and right now 40 lakhs cash in hand. I am planning to put it in FD for monthly income. Right now I don't have any loans or any liabilities. Infact nearly 50k I am investing monthly in mutual funds. Already 10 lakhs FD in wife savings account and more than 20 lakhs KVP in post office on my children name. I am actually planning for passive income apart from my salary. With this income I am planning to roam around the india twice in a year with family. Without tax deduction or TDS how to segregate this 40 lakh for passive income. Getting a monthly salary more than a lakh. But I don't want to use my salary money for any enjoyments, it is for only MF investments, domestic expenses and future savings. Kindly guide me please.

Ans: Your query is subject to many factors like your risk appetite, how you are planning your trips etc. Usually for such kind of goals (wherein fund is required after 6-8 months), people invest in liquid mutual fund. On redemption TDS will not be deducted but tax will be applicable.

Ans: HI Sujith,
OBC-NCL certificate is valid only in the state where it is issued. You can't use whatever the way you want.
If you want, then you need apply for fresh certificate from Maharashtra.
Maintain the data integrity.
