My son scored 297 in Bitsat. Which branch he may get comfortably. Preferably, he wants computing and math, Msc or CSE

Ans: With a BITSAT score of 297, your son can likely secure a seat in branches like Electronics & Communication (ECE) or Electrical & Electronics (EEE) at BITS Goa or Hyderabad. He may also have a good chance at Mechanical or Civil Engineering at Pilani campus, depending on the specific cutoffs for the year.

Sir , My son got 283 in BITSAT and he is selected for electronics and computer at goa, he also selected for BITS international degree of CS at RMIT Australia, pls guide which course to pursue ?
Ans: Respected Sir,
Both options your son has received — Electronics & Computer at BITS Goa and International CS degree with RMIT Australia — are excellent. Here's a simple and clear comparison to help you decide:
Option 1: BITS Goa – Electronics & Computer Engineering (ECE+CS)
? Strong course with good balance of hardware + software
? BITS Goa has very good faculty, campus life, and placements
? He can still go into software/IT jobs — many ECE students land in top tech companies
? Lower cost (compared to studying in Australia)
? Strong alumni network in India and abroad
? You can also go abroad for Master’s later after saving money

Placement Range: ?10–20+ LPA for good students, average ~?8 LPA
Location: Goa, India (BITS brand is strong)
Option 2: BITS + RMIT Australia (International CS Program)
? He’ll do part of his degree in India, then shift to RMIT University in Melbourne
? Direct exposure to global tech industry
? CS is a top-demand field abroad, so good job prospects in Australia
? Much higher cost — approx ?25–30 lakhs or more in total
? Visa, living expenses, part-time jobs are extra responsibilities

Prospects: Very good if he wants to settle abroad
Placement: Depends more on internships, local performance in Australia
Immigration Opportunity: Yes, possible if he works after graduation in Australia
? If your budget is limited and you're looking for strong placements in India, choose BITS Goa — it's one of the best in India.
? If your goal is long-term migration, global exposure, and you can afford the cost, the RMIT Australia program is great.
