Sir, I will be joining SRM RMP ECE this year. My aim is for a good masters program in the US. Should I proceed with this college or take a 2nd year full/partial drop for top NIT? Also, the 1st gap year was due to health reasons. I did not attempt JEE mains 2024.

Ans: Had you joined any Coaching Centre or had you been preparing yourself for JEE and could not appear due to health reasons? If you are confident, you will score more than 98 percentile, go ahead for the drop to target NIT. Else, join SRM-RMP-ECE. All the BEST for Your Bright Future.

Thank you sir! I did not prepare much in the 1st drop due to health reasons, and I did not join any coaching institute. 1) Would you recommend a partial drop - prepping for JEE alongside 1st year Btech since there's a overlap between 12th and 1st year syllabus? My parents are against another full drop. 2) I am anxious about joining a lower ranked college. In what terms I would be at disadvantage compared to IIT/NIT students?
Ans: Please think positively. Your success in your career does NOT always depend upon where you join, instead, how far you will be self-motivated and dedicated after you join any college. NOT that you will be successful only if you join IIT/NIT.

It is advisable to join SRM, MOVE FORWARD, perform well academically, keep upgrading your skills with Certifications, involve in co/extra-curricular activities of your domain, have a Professional LinkedIn Profile, update it every 3-months, & put Job Alerts in LinkedIn to get notifications to know the current Job Market Trends to upgrade yourself.

All these will be required for your SOP (Statement of Purpose) & LOR (Letter of Recommendation from College Faculties) to fulfill your dream of studying for your Masters Abroad (USA). All the Best. Never lose your confidence by temporary failures.

Sir, I got SRM Easwari ECE through TNEA allotment, and I have SRM Ramapuram ECE at hand. Which college should I choose for a well-rounded profile of myself for a good masters program in the US (GeorgiaTech, Purdue, etc..)? Thank you!
