Dr Dipankar Dutta is an associate professor in the computer science and engineering department at the University Institute of Technology, the University of Burdwan, West Bengal.

Hello sir, I am a first year BTech CSE student at IIT Bhilai. When I had joined the college the average package for my branch was 19LPA but this year the average package has fallen down to 15 LPA. Given that recession is going on across the globe and that the alumni network of IIT Bhilai is not very vast, I feel that getting a degree from this college will be waste of my money. Should I drop this college and appear this year for BITSAT or should I try to complete my degree and then go for MBA from top IIMs like ABC?

Ans: IIT Bhilai is far better than Bits. Check faculty profiles. So, complete your degree and then go for MBA from top IIMs like ABC.

My son took admission in IIT Roorkee bsms chemical science branch 2024 but he could not change his branch respectively. He depressed so much. He came delhi on his winter vacation he cracked Jee mains with 99.40 percentile so he want to leave roorkee and take admission in DTU or NSUT CSE Branch. Please suggest me in this case is it worthit to leave IIT seat.... Suggest me leave iit or not

However, instead of relying solely on DTU or NSUT, it is highly recommended to apply for all participating colleges under JAC-Delhi to maximize his chances of securing a seat in a preferred institution.

Ans: Adarsh, you can consider appearing for BITSAT if: (1) You are confident of scoring above 300 marks to secure admission in the CSE branch. & (2) Your family can comfortably afford the minimum fee of ?8 lakh per year. If these conditions are challenging, it would be more practical to continue with your IIT-B CSE program and focus on enhancing your skills through relevant certifications recommended by your college faculty.

Additionally, I suggest: (1) Setting up job alerts on LinkedIn for your domain to stay updated on job market trends, job descriptions, and salary expectations. (2) Preparing for both campus and off-campus placements to maximize your opportunities.
(3) Gaining at least 2-3 years of work experience before considering an MBA, which can further accelerate your career growth.

What are the ways in which a son can avoid Income tax while receiving an amount from his father, while his father sells is own land in India?

Ans: Whatever tax is payable, the same is payable by his father & not by son.
If the son gets any amount from his father, it is a Gift & not Income for the son.

Hi I am 44 year old women , my periods are regular and I am taking HCQS 300 Once daily since last year after being diagnosed for Sjogren' Syndrome. I am always anxious about my wellbeing for mykids sake . I am alwyas worried for lump in my breast and smell from vagina ( though my gynae who is well experienced, told me not to worry as its just structure of breast and also from internal examination and through USG she told not to worry about anything.) my all blood test reports are normal and ESR and CRP are very low , within normal range .but I am worried .should I still go for Mammography (which is considered to create cancer itself due to radiation)and Pap Smear Test or the smell may be just due to dryness inside bcoz of Sjogren. Please help

Women with Sjögren's syndrome have a significantly higher chance of experiencing vaginal dryness compared to the general population.
While vaginal smell is not a direct symptom of Sjögren's, vaginal dryness can make the woman more susceptible to infections and other issues that might alter vaginal odor.
If you are worried on breast lump you can get mammography done to rule out any malignancy

Another factor we're thinking about is the 8-year age gap between our children. We're wondering whether we should move forward or take more time to reconsider our decision.

Ans: For a husband at 41 and wife at 36 considering a second pregnancy, concerns about age and finances are valid. While both are still fertile, the husband's age may slightly increase the risk of chromosomal abnormalities in the baby, while the wife's age increases the risk of pregnancy-related complications and chromosomal conditions in the baby. Finances should be carefully considered, as raising a child can be expensive, especially when factoring in potential medical costs and childcare.
Yes, but advance in medical science we can always rule out any congenital problems in the baby by series of sonographies and blood test done at every trimester and appropriate intervention can be done.
If you are surely planning to have one more child in future, then it's advisable to go ahead with present pregnancy since its natural conception.
