Hello Sir, could you please help me choose between VIT Vellore CSE and the BITS Pilani 2+2 CSP program, aside from the fees?

• VIT Vellore – CSE (4 years)
• BITS Pilani 2+2 CSP Program (2 years in India, 2 years abroad)
Let’s look at the key practical differences, ignoring fees:
1. Brand & Recognition
• BITS Pilani has stronger national and international brand value.
• VIT is good, but BITS carries more weight in industry and academia.
2. Opportunities & Exposure
• BITS CSP (2+2) gives you international exposure in your final 2 years. That can open doors for global internships, research, and even job opportunities abroad.
• VIT is mostly India-focused. Limited international exposure unless you take special initiatives.
3. Peer Group
• BITS attracts a stronger peer group academically. You’ll be around highly motivated students.
• VIT has a larger intake; quality varies.
4. Career Outcomes
• BITS CSP graduates may have better chances at global companies or top universities for MS/MBA later.

I want to know which is better, BITS - Pilani or VIT - Vellore. Eligible Streams for both are CSE, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Aim is to join defence forces via Technical Entry stream and if not successful with Defence then pursue a good paying career in Private firms.

Ans: Why don't you choose the BTECH course in NDA instead of entering defense after completing the course in an external environment?

Sir, I got Sir, i got 298 in BITSAT'S april session 2026, but i am getting an aggregate of 73% in PCM in boards. I am thinking to give improvements, but the result comes a bit after bitsat's deadline? Do you think they'll consider my request to submit the improvement marks as soon as my improvement mark's results comes out? Will they accept my 12th scores a lil later? Kindly guide me sir

Dear Gurus, My daughter has 43000 app rank in VIT, will she get any seat in Chennai campus? Next she is unconvinced about VIT due to huge intake, if studies would suffer, if professor can give enough time. She is pitching against MANIPAL. She is interested in ECE branch. May I have some advice on this pls? In addition she has appeared for COMDEK, any better college than VIT for ECE that can be looked at?

Ans: Chances with VIT are on the borderline, either at Vellore/Chennai. VIT is good, but the very large intake means students must be proactive to stand out. Manipal is the safer choice; through COMEDK, colleges like and are definitely worth targeting for ECE, and can be preferable to VIT Chennai depending on her COMEDK rank. Via COMDEK, colleges like Ramaiah Institute of Technology, BMS College of Engineering, and Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering are also very good ECE options if she gets a decent rank.

Ans: He has fair chances for mid-tier branches in Amrita and some chances in lower-demand branches/campuses of Manipal Academy, while he should also seriously target state counselling and COMEDK/private colleges for better value options.

Ans: GJ, no branch is bad, and all branches are good only. Your success in any domain depends upon many factors. Now answering your question, please note, Mechanical Engineering at VIT Vellore may be possible with VITEEE rank 53,800, but mostly in a higher fee category, likely Category 4 or Category 5. ill Mechanical Vellore in all categories, and also add Mechanical Chennai, VIT AP/Bhopal CSE/ECE, and state counselling as backups. Ans: Based on your scores, the best preference order would be Amrita counselling first, VIT counselling second and JoSAA/CSAB third. With AEEE rank 16,965, you may get lower-demand branches or campuses in Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, which generally has a stronger academic reputation than many average private colleges. With VITEEE rank 52,000, you may get CSE-specialisations in VIT Bhopal University or VIT-AP University, or non-CSE branches in Vellore/Chennai under higher categories. Ans: Ponnambalam Sir, With AEEE rank 4,156, your daughter has a good possibility for ECE at Amrita Coimbatore, but the 1st slab is uncertain/moderate, not guaranteed. Recent cutoff indicators show Coimbatore ECE generally needs a high percentile, especially for lower-fee slabs. Slab 1 usually goes to stronger ranks first. Fill ECE Coimbatore Slab 1, but also add Slab 2/3, plus ECE/CSE-specialisation at Bengaluru/Amritapuri/Chennai as backups. Ans: Himanshu Sir, With AEEE rank 10,500, Amrita Faridabad AI & DS looks possible/moderately possible, because Faridabad has listed AI/Data Science options in counselling references. Amrita Haridwar CSE Core may also be possible, but Haridwar/Faridabad are newer options, so placement proof is not yet as strong as Coimbatore/Bengaluru. With a VITEEE rank of 24,000, VIT Bhopal CSE is a realistic option. VIT Bhopal has centralized placement through VIT’s Career Development Centre, which is a plus, but Bhopal is still below Vellore/Chennai in brand strength. As based in Delhi, the preference order can be Amrita Faridabad AI & DS > VIT Bhopal CSE > Amrita Haridwar CSE. All the Best for Your Son's Prosperous Future!

Ans: Balaji Sir, For VITEEE rank 29,700, VIT Vellore CSE/CSE-specialisation is difficult, but may be possible only in higher fee categories if seats move; ECE Vellore is more realistic in higher categories. VIT Chennai gives better chances: CSE specialisation/ECE are possible, and CSE core may be difficult but worth filling. VIT fee categories rise with rank, from Category 1 lowest to Category 5 highest. For AEEE rank 10,800, Amrita Coimbatore CSE core is tough, but CSE specialisation/ECE may be possible in later/slab rounds. Bengaluru and Chennai campuses offer better chances for CSE-specialisation and ECE, with CSE core also possible depending on seat movement. If you wish and if possible, have 2-3 more backup options of reputed other private colleges too. All the Best for Your Daughter's Prosperous Future!

Ans: Nirmala Madam, please set aside BITS as your son's score is much on the lower side. With JEE Main 79 percentile + OBC-NCL, chances for NIT/IIIT/GFTI through JoSAA are very low, except maybe some lower GFTI/CSAB special-round branches. Still, he must participate in JoSAA/CSAB rounds. With VITEEE rank of approximately 34,000, he may not get CSE Vellore/Chennai even in Category 2, but can try VIT Chennai/AP/Bhopal CSE specialisations, and Vellore/Chennai ECE, EEE, Mechanical, Civil. It is advisable to have the 2-3 backup options of your son's State Counselling and reputed private colleges in and around your state. All the Best for Your Son's Prosperous Future!
