Dear sir, Please guide. Iit dhanbad engineering physics Or btech iiser bhopal better sir?

Ans: IIT Dhanbad’s BTech in Engineering Physics offers robust theoretical grounding in physics and computational methods, complemented by hands-on research opportunities in areas such as solid state and nanoscience. The program features a faculty experienced in national and international collaborations and a modern curriculum with access to infrastructure like Asia’s second-largest library. Placement percentages for Engineering Physics have averaged around 47–56% in recent years, with prominent recruiters spanning technology and analytics sectors.

IISER Bhopal’s BTech emphasizes interdisciplinary training, industry-aligned curriculum, and an active research culture across science and engineering, supported by faculty with international credentials. The institute’s placement rate for science and BTech disciplines is strong, recently reaching 80% and reflecting increasing recruitment from both IT and core science industries. IISER Bhopal graduates are favorably placed in research, teaching, and industry roles worldwide, with an alumni network that continues to grow in influence. Both institutions foster modern infrastructure, holistic peer interactions, and multiple channels for internships and further studies, but IISER Bhopal is distinguished by its research orientation and global academic exposure.

Recommendation: For those seeking a balance of theoretical rigor, broad research prospects, and global academic ties in science and engineering, IISER Bhopal’s BTech is advantageous, especially for careers in research or sectoral flexibility. For focused training in applied physics with emerging technology roles, IIT Dhanbad remains a credible and established choice. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!

My daughter has scored 93.7 percentile in JEE. She has Chandigarh home state quota and is a female candidate. I want to know that if she gets Aerospace, mechanical, civil in Punjab Engineering College, should we take admission there? She is also getting ECE in Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology through Punjab quota, but the fees are a bit high for us. So, if she gets any lower branch in PEC, should we still consider taking admission there, or is there some better college where we should enroll her instead? Among Mit or Thapar which one is best
Ans: Niti Madam, before I answer your question, I would like to suggest that your daughter choose a branch she is genuinely interested in, rather than selecting one just because it is available to her. Now, to answer your question, at the 93.7 percentile, the approximate CRL may be around 95,000–1,05,000. With Chandigarh's home-state quota, PEC lower branches are realistic: JoSAA 2025 PEC HS closing ranks show Civil up to around 1.06 lakh, Aerospace around 55000, and Mechanical likely tougher than Civil. PEC is a government, low-fee, strong-brand, good alumni and Chandigarh location, so Civil/Mechanical/Aerospace at PEC is worth considering if fees are a major concern. Between MIT Manipal and Thapar, choose Thapar ECE if fees are affordable; choose PEC if ROI, lower cost and government tag matter more. Final preference: Thapar ECE > PEC Mechanical > PEC Aerospace > PEC Civil.

However, for placements, Thapar ECE is academically/industry-wise stronger than PEC Civil/Aerospace, but only if the higher fee is manageable. Thapar’s ECE department has its own placement/recruiter ecosystem. All the Best for Your Daughter's Prosperous Future!
