Ans: With a 98.2 percentile in JEE Main (OBC), your chances for ECE/EEE are good in some NITs, but the very top ones like NIT Warangal, NIT Surathkal, and IIIT Hyderabad are still tough because their cut-offs for these branches are usually higher for OBC (often 99+).
You should still try for:
• NIT Allahabad (ECE chances are fair)
• NITs in the next tier like NIT Jaipur, NIT Rourkela, NIT Nagpur
• IIIT Bangalore – borderline for ECE, but worth applying
• IIIT Delhi – possible if you meet their eligibility and domicile rules
Keep backup options ready in other good NITs/IIITs to be safe.
