Sir, given option ECE /EEE Bits Goa and ENI Bitspilani, which one to choose?

Ans: BITS Goa’s ECE and EEE branches both offer excellent academic quality, modern infrastructure, and strong placement records, with the 2023 placement rate at 91.15% and an average package of ?20.13 lakh. Top recruiters include Google, Microsoft, Uber, and Amazon, and circuit branches like ECE and EEE consistently attract high-profile companies and diverse roles, including core electronics, software, and consulting positions. ENI (Electronics and Instrumentation) at BITS Pilani also benefits from the institute’s national reputation, with an 82.75–90.09% placement rate and a median package of ?18.2 lakh, drawing recruiters such as Texas Instruments, AMD, and LAM Research. BITS Pilani’s main campus offers a larger alumni network, more research opportunities, and is ranked as an Institution of Eminence, which can benefit long-term career growth and higher studies. ENI at Pilani is highly valued in the core electronics and automation industry, while ECE/EEE at Goa is versatile, opening doors in both core and IT sectors, and the Goa campus is known for its vibrant student culture and dynamic learning environment.

The recommendation is to choose ENI at BITS Pilani main campus for its superior national reputation, alumni network, and long-term career prospects, unless you have a strong preference for the Goa campus environment, in which case ECE or EEE at BITS Goa remains an excellent option. All the BEST for the Admission & a Prosperous Future!

Sir my Son got 94.98 percentile in JEE Mains general category from Maharashtra state and now he is going to give his JEE Advanced.he has already given MHTCET exam and is now going to give MET Manipal exam next week. His board percentage is 79 .He has got a mail that from Manipal campus for the councelling based on JEE Mains score of which last date is 17th of May and seat allotment would on 18 th of May .They are asking to pay the first installment of 2, 90, 000 before 22 nd of May and final installment by 29th of May .My son wants to take CS .Sir my question is we are confused whether to keep or let go of this seat in Manipal campus as Advanced results would come only in the first week of June .Please Guide
Ans: With a 94.98 percentile and an interest in CSE, it is safer to block the Manipal CSE seat now if you are financially sound, as it is a strong backup option while JEE Advanced and JoSAA outcomes are still uncertain. You can later decide after Advanced/MHT-CET results, by carefully checking Manipal’s refund policy before the final withdrawal dates. Talk directly with the Manipal Administration about the admission cancellation process and their fee refund policy without hesitation. If possible, ask them to provide this in writing, as they are asking you to pay Rs 2.9 L as the 1st installment. Many colleges/universities have their own cancellation and fee refund policies. Even some take months to refund without any reason.
Important: You have not mentioned what your son expects from the MHT-CET exam. If he scores around the 99th percentile, you may reconsider Manipal, as he can get CSE at prestigious colleges in Maharashtra itself.

Good luck.
