If not satisfied with CSE @ NIT-J, then consider taking part in CSAB. Participating in CSAB can increase your chances of securing admission to better NITs compared to Jamshedpur. However, it can be a gamble. If Jamshedpur is far from your hometown, participating in CSAB could help you get admission to one of the top NITs. The final decision will be yours.

Ans: With your OBC rank around 49,000, getting into top NITs or IIITs like Northeast NIT or IIIT Kalyani/Sonipat is possible but not guaranteed for CSE. BITS Bangalore CSE is tough to get with that rank, as it usually requires a much better score. If you have a confirmed BITS offer, that’s great, but if not, I’d suggest you participate in CSAB counseling—NITs and IIITs from there offer good education and decent placements. Choose a college where you feel comfortable, has good infrastructure, and opportunities to grow, rather than just chasing brand names. Focus on your hard work after admission—wherever you go, that matters most.
