Sir ,I do not have ews right now and i have to apply for jee mains session 1 can i appear in jee mains session 1 as general category and i will change my category to general-EWS in session 2 or what to do suggest me ?

Ans: Ayush, Yes, you can apply for JEE Main Session 1 (registration deadline November 27, 2025) as General category and change to General-EWS during Session 2 correction window (expected February 2026), provided you obtain a valid EWS certificate by then. NTA explicitly allows category modification during Session 2 correction period if you possess valid documentation—specifically an EWS income and asset certificate issued after April 1, 2025, by competent authority (Tehsildar/District Magistrate). However, ensure your EWS certificate is ready before Session 2 registration opens (late January 2026) as category changes after correction window closes are strictly prohibited, even during JoSAA counselling. Apply for your EWS certificate immediately from district revenue authorities to avoid last-minute complications, as processing typically requires 10-15 days. Actually while filling out the form and that too second time, one has to take immense care. Yet, you can change it. But wait for the "Correction Window" opened by NTA. Regularly visit the NTA-JEE web site for announcements.

Ans: Arnab, No, you can't change the category on the JEE Main form after the test is over and the window for making changes has ended. What You Can Do is, use the EWS Category when you're counseling with JoSAA or CSAB. When you register for JoSAA or CSAB, you can choose the EWS category as long as you send a valid EWS certificate. Make sure that your certificate was given after April 1, 2024, and that it is still valid according to JoSAA rules. Your JEE Main score or rank will stay the same, but if you chose the right place during counseling, it may be counted toward the EWS reservation. After JEE Advanced, when entry for JoSAA 2025 starts, pick "EWS" as your category. All the best for your admissions!

Ans: Yes, if you are a female candidate, IGDTUW has a good chance for “any branch” under the Delhi general quota. JAC Delhi 2025 Round-1 Delhi General closing ranks were around CSE 43,914, IT 55,952, ECE 69,167, MAE 80,688, and DMAM 82,511, so at CRL 1,83,797, top branches are difficult in normal rounds. But official JAC Delhi publishes round-wise cutoffs, and later/spot rounds can go lower depending on vacancies. For JoSAA NIT/IIIT/GFTI CSE/ECE/Electrical, chances are very low at this CRL for the general category. Strategy: fill IGDTUW all branches, DTU/NSUT lower branches if allowed, JAC spot round, IPU counselling, IIITD unlikely, and backups like MAIT, MSIT, BPIT, USAR, JIIT, AKTU and reputed private colleges. Ans: Santosh, with your score, your chances for CSE, ECE, or Electrical in NITs and IIITs are very low. More realistic options are lower branches like Civil, Mechanical, or Metallurgy in newer or lower?ranked NITs and GFTIs through JoSAA/CSAB. You may also get non?core branches in some IIITs in later rounds. Fill all choices, including lower NITs and GFTIs, and focus strongly on CSAB special rounds. Hi,Sir I have got 89.7 percentile could I get cse cyber security

Ans: Based on your score, expected CRL may be around 1.55–1.70 lakh, so Cyber Security/CSE-related branches in NITs/IIITs through JoSAA are very difficult for General/Open category. JoSAA official archives show that admissions are strictly based on opening/closing ranks, and CSE-related branches usually close much earlier.

You may still fill choices for IIIT Kottayam Cyber Security, IIIT Bhagalpur, IIIT Una, IIIT Kalyani, IIIT Dharwad, IIIT Nagpur, IIIT Bhopal, and lower GFTIs, but chances are low unless you have a category/home-state/female quota benefit or get a seat in CSAB special rounds. It is advisable to back up options of your State Counselling & 4-5 reputed private engineering colleges for Cybersecurity instead of relying only on JoSAA. All the BEST for Your Prosperous Future!

Hello sir could you tell me about general engineering at IIT mandi? How are the curriculum and placements? I am not sure which branch of engineering to choose, so this program seems exciting to me.

Ans: IIT Mandi General Engineering is a good option if you are genuinely undecided. It gives broad exposure in the first two years to Mechanical, Civil, Data Science and Computer Science, then allows specialisations such as Energy Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing, e-Mobility, AI & Robotics, product design, animation/fashion-tech, etc. IIT Mandi also mentions possible one-year exposure at partner institutes/industry.

Placement data is still evolving because this is a new 2023 programme, so branch-wise placement proof is limited. Choose it for flexibility + IIT tag, not for guaranteed CSE-like placements. Ans: He has a good chance of admission to NITs/IIITs. Both top NITs and IIITs have strong records. NITs offer broader campus life and a wider range of branches, while IIITs provide stronger, more focused CS/AI exposure. Neither is universally “better”; prefer AI/ML at IIIT Lucknow over Chemical at NIT Trichy if his interest is in CS/AI and future studies in that field.

Ans: You may get some lower-demand GFTIs/state govt colleges, and should focus more on Andhra Pradesh state counselling. Keep CSAB/JoSAA for slim-chance lower branches in very low-cutoff institutes
