Dr Dipankar Dutta is an associate professor in the computer science and engineering department at the University Institute of Technology, the University of Burdwan, West Bengal.

i am currently in 12th class with subject pcb. I wanted to do engineering btech in cse for which i needed maths. If i give cbse private candidate exam for additional subject in mathematics (041) then will i be eligible to take btech cse in nits and iiits or any other private institute?

Ans: Yes, if you appear for the CBSE Private Candidate Exam for Mathematics (041) as an additional subject and pass, you will become eligible for B.Tech CSE in many private institutes and some government colleges. However, for NITs and IIITs, eligibility depends on the specific admission criteria.
