I am 22 years old now completed my Mcom external as I was preparing for competitive exams (Regulatory Bodies and Bank Op) so in this 2 years of my mcom I did not do any job nor did I gain other skills. Now I decided to do Financial Modeling course which is of 3.5 months and get placed through the org I will be pursuing this course get some work expi and also prepare for MBA entrance exams like CAT, XAT, NMAT, CET, SNAP etc. But now my brother's friend who's in It sector said me to do some technical courses rather than this financial course like DevOps + Python, Full Stack Developer, Data Engineering etc he suggested some more but I can't remember them now but he said that as I have no background in technical so I just do DevOps and also learn a programming language as this IT sector has lots of work but less people so I will get placed easily and will also get some good package. But I know a friend of mine he did such same course but he's not earning much like 12k a month but my brother's friend who also did this devops course for 3 months with 5 years of gap he's now in Banglore and have 10lps package. I'm so confused what's happening I can't understand what should I do Finance course or technical course. And if I ask myself I'm like I don't know maybe the one which give me good money in my hand. But what I do? Which will give me good amount in my hand or how will be my growth in both careers. Please help me, please tell me the difference in both finance and in IT sector career growth, job opportunities, lifestyle.

Ans: Dear Sir/ Madam,

Most importantly do the course what resonates with your more. What's your inclination. Everyone will come and help you with the information at the end do what will make you happy. Else you may end up doing what others are saying and you may not enjoy it in the long run. If you inclined towards both finance and technical then you can do the finance course as it will serve as the domain expertise and work on the technology front.

Whatever you choose should align with your motivation and not only with financial goals.

Hope this helps

Thanks
Ashwini

Hello sir/mam My age is 24 years I have completed my Bsc(MECS) In the year of 2021 Later i completed my MBA in marketing in september (2023) While working as a manager in Fitness industry Taking on responsibilities of sales & operations, During the same time period ,as a means to support myself and family financially to an extent Reason for doing mba instead of mca , i was not sure ,if i would go work in IT ,so, i did my mba with plans of doing course from outside, if i ended up switching Currently i have completed 2.6 years in my current role, I feel like ,i am stuck, burnt out, I am planning for a switch in my career But ,i am confused between IT, & Non IT My friends are suggesting me to do DEVops, which requires me to learn coding language Some are saying to go for Businesses Analysts, as you are a very good communicator, and it requires very less coding I am confused on what should i do Should i switch to IT, If i do ,what are the challenges, that i need to overcome, Are there any other roles which i can try for ,based on my qualifications I am currently earning a salary of 25k per month plus incentives which varies on monthly basis
Ans: There are many options available. You will have to match your interest with what the job market requires. In IT field itself there are many options like Data Science, Data Analyst, Business Analyst, etc. Can go to other relevant fields like Digital Marketing, for which you will have to upskill yourself. Can do so along with your current job.
Developer role may not have a long term prospect with the advent of AI as a lot of developers are losing their jobs.

Relationship
Hi Anu I am a married woman with a very supportive husband and daughter. For last 10 years I am having an affair with a colleague and things are pretty well between us. Both of us have found the comfort and requisite from each other which we missed in married life and it saved our respective marriage though none of our family are aware of it. We balanced this till now effectively. Recently I got an opportunity within the company which is very lucrative and will enhance my career goals altogether however, for this I have to shift to another state. Now , my bf is very upset on this as it means he will not be able to meet me as we do every day. My husband and Daughter is fine with my shifting however my parents who are old are also apprehensive since I am the only child and do take care of them. My husband has assured to support them in absence of me and I have full confidence on him. All throughout my life I have focused on my professional career and have worked towards that and now when I got this opportunity I am emotionally unstable and unable to take the decision. My dilemma is surrounding various aspects. 1- Don’t want to leave my BF as he is my strength. 2- My parents are old and since I being the only child, they ae 3- If I could not perform in the new role then? 4- The daily hardship that I have to take over in a new place as my husband will not shift. 5- Remuneration wise not as such however if you say power then yes. Learning – knowledge enhancement and career upliftment - yes very much. 6- Current role will not grow much however stability as of now do exists. Can you help me to take the decision ?
Ans: Dear Nibedita,
What is important to you and what helps you grow professionally and personally must be looked at? Constraints are always going to play a role BUT working around it may help you make a decision. If professionally you are going to grow into the role and for this you need to work around things for the time being, then you must do just that. But in all this, do factor that you have a daughter who is still young and will need your presence a lot; physically and emotionally.
Now, how you work this with your BF is something that is between the two of you; but it's not power or money BUT how you grow in your new role.
Also, talk to your family and come to an arrangement whereby they also become your pillar of strength and support. You will then be able to come to a viable decision.

All the best!
