My son's rank in jee is 36300,his bits score is 247,comedk rank is 3006,.He is getting IIIT Dharwad ECE, LNMIT jaipur CS. Pls suggest order of preference.

Ans: His COMEDK Rank is good. Give utmost importance to COMEDK to get admission into any one of the Top 3-4 colleges in Bengaluru (IT-City) such as, RVCE, BMSCE, MSRIT, Dayanand etc. Getting CSE (Core) will be slightly difficult in top 3-4 colleges. He will have to be flexible for Streams like CSE (Speciaisations), Mechanical, ECE etc. However, advise your son to fill in maximum number of Colleges (beginning with top 10 colleges of Bengaluru & streams he prefers, starting from CSE-Core). (2) LNMIT-J-CSE (3) IIIT-D-ECE. All the BEST for Your Son's Bright Future.

My son's JEE mains rank is 25000. He has got Mechanical in NIT Kurukshetra (home state) after round 1 and might secure Electrical at best. He has got CS in Thapar Main Campus. His COMEDK rank is 2700. Pls advice preference order. Thanks

Ans: Encourage him to consider his interests, long-term goals, and the overall environment.

Thapar University (CS): If he’s passionate about computer science and wants a private university experience. especially if he’s passionate about programming and technology.
NIT Kurukshetra (Electrical): If he secures electrical, it’s a great option. If he can secure electrical at NIT Kurukshetra, it’s worth considering.
NIT Kurukshetra (Mechanical): If he prefers staying in his home state and is interested in mechanical engineering. Mechanical engineering here offers a solid foundation.
If interested in COMEDK College with 2700 Rank: Explore options based on the branch and reputation of the college.

I am working in a software MNC for 10+ years. My company has been laying off people last couple of years as cost cutting measure. Now Management is putting undue pressure on me to resign to avoid paying severance. They are trying to implicate me in false PIP if I don't resign myself. What should I do?

Ans: Dismissal could be temporary, while termination is permanent.

Both can be on account of misconduct
