I passed Class 12 from CBSE in 2024 with an aggregate of 58.5%. I plan to improve my marks through NIOS before NEET-UG 2027.
Can my existing CBSE marks and improved NIOS marks be combined to calculate my aggregate? If the combined aggregate reaches 60% or above, will I be eligible for AIIMS MBBS admission?
Ans: Hi Aditya,
GREETINGS FROM THE REDIFFGURUS!
Why do you focus solely on AIIMS when there are many government and private colleges offering MBBS programs? To secure admission at AIIMS, you only need to improve your HSC marks by 2%. Instead, consider strengthening your knowledge in basic subjects. Even if you score 60%, there’s no guarantee of admission to AIIMS unless your rank meets their requirements.
Based on your marks, it seems you are struggling with the foundational subjects. I recommend that you work on those areas to prepare for NEET and aim for a higher score to secure a better ranking. This way, you won’t waste your time trying to improve your AIIMS marks by just 2%.
Also, NEET has no age limits or restrictions on the number of attempts, so you don’t need to worry about that. Later on, you can still pursue higher education at AIIMS if you wish. This is just my opinion, and I hope you understand my perspective.
BEST WISHES.
