Having said that ECE at IIT Bhopal ECE offers better access to careers in software/IT, semiconductors, embedded systems, VLSI, telecom roles. Has good placement outcomes, the academic environment is strongly oriented towards programming and technology, making it easier to transition into software roles.
Mech Engg at BITS Mesra offers fewer opportunities in comparison despite being a more established institution, with a strong alumni network, excellent campus and a NIRF Engineering #51 in 2025.
However, if you have a genuine interest in automobiles, manufacturing, design or core mechanical engineering—or plan to pursue higher studies in Mechanical—BIT Mesra is an excellent choice.
