I am FUll stack Dotnet developer , 8 years of experince feeling, underpaid, and want to seek an on site oppertunity.
Ans: There are phases in every career when you feel underutilised, underpaid and unable to realise your full potential. It can be frustrating, especially after eight years of experience.
In your situation, you can: 1. Look for opportunities outside if you believe your growth or compensation has plateaued.
2. Talk to your manager and HR. Seek feedback, discuss career aspirations—including an onsite role—and ask what skills or milestones are needed for better opportunities and a fair salary. Many of us hesitate to ask for proactive feedback, but there is nothing wrong with having a professional conversation about your career.
My advice is to first give your current organisation 6–12 months to respond positively. If there is still no meaningful progress, confidently explore opportunities elsewhere.
But, keep upgrading your skills, picking up new ones and continue giving your best. A strong performance record, combined with continuous learning, can improve your chances of getting a better-paying and potentially onsite role.
