I got 29k in general and 8193 rank in obc ncl in jee mains. I am from telangana. I wanted to aerospace but it seems btech mechanical and aerospace related electives plus mtech in aerospace is safer option. So please suggest and give me a list of best Nit for mechanical engineering for my rank, that has good aerospace related electives and good lab facilities
Ans: Gajavelli, your plan to do a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with Aerospace electives, then an M.Tech, is a smart and safe choice. With your JEE Main ranks (29,000 General, 8,193 OBC-NCL), your best option is NIT Warangal in your home state. It’s easier to get into and has great labs for computational fluid dynamics, propulsion, and DRDO projects.
If you want to apply under other state quotas, NIT Rourkela and NIT Calicut fit well with your OBC rank and offer strong mechanical programs with aerodynamics and flight mechanics electives.
NIT Trichy and NIT Surathkal have top aerospace labs working with ISRO, but their other state mechanical cutoffs are tough—around a 3,000 to 3,500 OBC rank—so you’d only get in through spot rounds. Focus on NIT Warangal to get good facilities, research opportunities, and the benefit of your local status. All the Best for Your Prosperous Future!
