Hello sir My son is in 12th Passing in 2027 non med giving jee mains as well. What extra exams he should give for secure seat. I am worried competition is too tough so i dont know if he will be able to grab the seat or not. Bitsat Comedk Iat Some i know
Ans: Tanish Sir, competition is everywhere, so I strongly recommend keeping as many suitable admission options open as possible. Apart from JEE Main, BITSAT, COMEDK, VITEEE, and your son's home-state engineering entrance examinations, it would be advisable to apply to 4–5 reputed engineering colleges in and around your state that also consider JEE Main scores, as several unpredictable factors can affect admission outcomes. Regarding IAT and IISER, please note that IISER programmes are primarily research-oriented rather than designed specifically for conventional campus placements. Therefore, your son should consider IISER only if he has a genuine and strong interest in scientific research. Securing a decent score, rank or percentile in these entrance examinations will largely depend on how effectively and strategically he utilises the next 6–7 months. Some practical steps include (1) regularly revising concepts learned over the past two years, (2) identifying, analysing and repeatedly practising questions answered incorrectly in school, coaching-centre and mock tests, (3) thoroughly practising previous years' question papers from the last 10–15 years for the examinations he plans to take, (4) strengthening his understanding of NCERT textbooks, particularly Chemistry, and (5) maintaining good physical and mental health by getting at least seven hours of sleep daily. These suggestions are relevant to engineering aspirants appearing for entrance examinations in 2027 and beyond. Regarding the choice of engineering branch or programme, I would suggest not making a final decision at this stage. Once your son has appeared for the relevant entrance examinations and his scores, ranks, interests/passion, available colleges and financial considerations are clearer, you can make a more informed decision. I hope these suggestions address your concerns, Tanish Sir. All The Best for Your Son's Prosperous Future!
