Sir in this year Indian Airforce has not declared any permanent post for the candidates who want to join IAF thorough AFCAT entry... Sir will this process will be continued from the upcoming year???

Ans: This is totally a vacancy based issue. It means that you won't get a permanent commission joining through AFCAT. The requirements will keep changing every year and one cannot predict if the same will hold good for next year. All the best!

My son has secured 95.39 percentile in JEE mains(GC) and has secured 94% in cbse boards. He got 29153 rank in VIT, 3860 rank(94.8 percentile in Amrita). He's getting a cutoff of 180.5 for TNEA counselling. Sastra he gets 94.295% He's ok with both computer science and electronics and communication. Namaste Sir, My questions to you are 1. Which is best comp.sci or electronics and communication. As we get to hear that AI will take over in future 2. VIT Vellore VIT Chennai Amrita Coimbatore SNU Chennai SASTRA Tanjore Pls rank the above for both c.sc and ece 3. Whats your opinion on new tech school like Newton school of technology, Scalar school of technology and Polaris school ofnTech. 4. Apart from the above would you also suggest any other colleges. Thank you Sir
Ans: Vatchala Madam, Since TN State Board students have an edge over CBSE/Other Board students, it is best to avoid placing a lot of trust on the TNEA Cutoff, especially for Top Colleges of TN. For your son’s strong academic profile, CSE is generally preferred for its broader career scope in software, AI, and IT, though ECE is also future-proof with opportunities in hardware, IoT, and embedded systems. Among your listed colleges, the recommended order for both CSE and ECE is: VIT Vellore, Amrita Coimbatore, VIT Chennai, SASTRA Thanjavur, and Shiv Nadar University Chennai-all known for excellent faculty, placements, and industry connections. New tech schools like Newton, Scaler, and Polaris offer modern, industry-focused education and strong placements but lack the legacy, campus life, and broad recognition of established universities; consider them as alternatives for highly motivated, tech-focused students. Additionally, (if available), PSG Tech, SRM IST, or SSN College of Engineering are top choices. Ultimately, select the branch and college based on your son’s interests and career goals. All the best for your son's admissions!

is VIT AP better than SRM KTK
Ans: VIT-AP vs. SRM KTR for CSE: Which is the Better Choice?

For students considering a career in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), VIT-AP is generally regarded as a stronger option compared to SRM Kattankulathur (KTR). While both institutions offer solid programs, VIT-AP’s placement success, academic culture, and reputation often provide a more compelling value proposition.

Key Comparison Factors
1. Placement and Career Opportunities:
VIT-AP benefits from VIT’s centralized placement system, which includes top recruiters and multinational companies. This gives students access to robust placement opportunities and internships. Compared to SRM KTR, VIT-AP tends to have a stronger placement record, especially in the tech sector.

2. Ranking and Reputation:
VIT, particularly its main campus in Vellore, consistently ranks higher than SRM in national engineering rankings. While VIT-AP is newer, it benefits from the strong brand and academic framework of its parent institution, giving it an edge in terms of perceived quality and recognition.

3. Infrastructure and Facilities:
VIT-AP offers modern infrastructure, smart classrooms, high-end computing labs, and well-maintained hostels. Although SRM KTR also provides good facilities, VIT generally has a reputation for maintaining better infrastructure and campus experience.

4. Coding Culture and Student Development:
VIT is known for fostering a strong coding and tech culture, with active student communities, hackathons, and coding clubs. This environment can significantly benefit students aiming for roles in software development, data science, and related fields.

5. Faculty and Academics:
Both institutions employ qualified faculty, but VIT is often seen as having a slight edge in terms of teaching quality, curriculum structure, and academic rigor. The emphasis on interdisciplinary learning and research also adds to VIT-AP’s academic strength.

6. Cost-Effectiveness:
SRM KTR may be more affordable, making it a viable choice for students with budget constraints. However, the return on investment (ROI) in terms of placements and industry exposure often makes VIT-AP a better long-term investment for many students.

Conclusion
While SRM KTR remains a respectable option for CSE, VIT-AP stands out for its stronger placement ecosystem, coding culture, and academic backing from the VIT group. For students prioritizing career outcomes and a tech-driven learning environment, VIT-AP is likely the better choice—provided the cost difference is manageable.
