Ans: Tax slabs under the old regime continue to be the same. The standard deduction is Rs 50,000

Tax slab is for new regime or old and if it is for new then what will happen to 80c and other investment benefits

Ans: Different Tax slabs have been listed for both new and old tax regimes however the changes to the slab rates have been done only for the new tax regime rates.

Accordingly, in case you are opting for the old tax regime then you could continue to avail of the deductions under section 80C and other benefits as you were claiming earlier.

Is there any change in the old tax regime tax slabs in this budget? What are the exact tax slabs if I would like to opt for the old tax regime and would like to avail benefit of Standard Deduction, Section 80 C, NPS(80CCD1B and 80ccd2) and Section 80 D ?

Ans: No change in old tax regime. Slab rates are as follows:

Up to Rs. 2,50,000 - 0%
Rs. 2,50,000 to Rs. 5,00,000 5%
Rs. 5,00,000 to Rs. 10,00,000 20%
Above Rs. 10,00,000 30%

Ans: Assuming 18 lacs doesn't include any special rate income, tax liability for FY 24 25 based on proposed amendment (after standard deduction of 50000) will be 215800

Ans: Yes, your son can still be eligible for IIT admission under the PwD category even if his 12th board marks are below 75%.
The 75% board marks eligibility criteria is relaxed for PwD candidates by JoSAA.

Hello My daughter got 85%in cbse 12th Non med No she has option to go for US degree in CS at University of California riverside and CSE Shiv Nadar nodia , I am not sure if it's worth spending for US degree or shiv nadar is better .

Ans: US degree = global exposure + higher investment

Ans: Apply in private universities like SRM, Amity, Shiv Nadar for better CSE chances.

Use VITEEE for VIT campuses, though CS is competitive.

Consider improving your rank next year for better NIT CSE options.

Ans: she may get non-CSE branches (like Civil, Chemical, Metallurgy) at:

NIT Mizoram

NIT Nagaland

NIT Arunachal Pradesh

NIT Meghalaya

Among KIIT, DSU, LPU (CSE): Order of Preference
KIIT – Better track record in CSE placements, dedicated tech fests, better peer group.

DSU (Dayananda Sagar University) – Decent Bangalore-based exposure, growing brand.

LPU – Large campus, mass intake. CSE is okay but placements vary widely.
If she gets CSE at VIT-AP or VIT-Bhopal, then the updated order would be:
VIT-AP > KIIT > DSU > VIT-Bhopal > LPU

Ans: Through TS EAMCET (Primary route in Telangana):
At 117000 rank, with OBC female quota, you may get lower or mid-tier private colleges, but CSE/IT/ECE in top colleges is unlikely.

You may get branches like:

EEE, Civil, Mechanical, or even ECE in some colleges.

Vignan Institute of Technology and Science, Deshmukhi

CMR Institute of Technology, Medchal (non-CSE branches)
