Budget is only a vision document, so why all this hullabaloo over it? In all other countries it is treated as just another event, except India where we treat is as the holy grail. Why why why

Ans: Budget actually lays the foundation for the new financial year and it gives a clear idea on changes or updates on tax system and because of budget only our home budget too gets affected as some things of household use get costly and some things get cheaper.

This change and /or in tax system and new rules to be implemented affect a particular sector and the corporates in that sector too and hence their share prices go up and down.

Hence this day we see market being volatile and so there is a lot of talk , speculation about budget

How this Budget 2023 is benefited for salaried (upto 9lakhs per annum) person

Ans: If person is earning 9 lacs from salary and have invested Rs.1,50,000 for tax saving (housing loan/insurance/mediclaim/NPS/tax saver MF etc); new tax regime will be beneficial after changes proposed in Budget 2023 for slab rate and standard deduction. Gross tax liability (without cess) under old regime will be Rs.52,500 and under new regime it will be Rs.40,000.

After new Budget presentation confusion is going everywhere, why two types of regimes are being forced to to the tax payers? One regime should be proposed with all hopes of benefits to the tax payers?

Ans: Well I believe the logic behind 2 regimes is simple, there are a lot of people who sa e because of tax benefits and a lot of people who don't, so cater both, 2 regimes are needed.

Why there is always so confusion in the budget when it comes to Income Tax rates? Will you please guide on the new norm of No Income Tax upto Rs 12 Lakhs...Thanks

Ans: Tax is calculated as per slab rate prescribed under both regime and once tax calculation is done, there is a concept of rebate which is deducted from tax liability.

Accordingly, if taxpayer opt for new tax regime, tax on 12 lacs of income will be 60000 and rebate will be 60000. Thus, tax liability will be Zero.

Please note that rebate is not available on special rate income like short term capital gain on equity shares which is taxable at 20%, long term capital gain on equity shares is taxable at 12.5%

Sir my daughter scored 73.8 in 10+2 but maths percentile is very low @ 46. She wish to appear in BITSAT. Can she be eligible if she improves her score in improvement exam to be held in July by CBSE?

Ans: Eligibility for BITS Pilani Admission:
Minimum Requirement: Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (for engineering courses) and secured at least 75% aggregate marks in these three subjects or be among the top 20 percentile in their respective board exams.

BITS also requires minimum 60% marks in each of these subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).
Yes! If she improves her aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics to 75% or above, she will meet the minimum eligibility criteria for BITSAT.
But my suggestion is to avoid engineering, because almost all streams in engineering require B.Sc. level math.
