Why do I feel so much energy after doing Kriya Yoga at night and I feel unable to sleep after that? Isn’t meditation supposed to relax the mind?

Ans: The best time for any form of exercise is either in the morning, or early evening. As the primary benefit of exercise is to increase circulation in the body, it is not advisable to be done before sleeping as it will obviously bring more blood flow to the brain, thus effecting sleep. Meditation on the other hand is a completely different process. It can both activate or relax the mind, depending on the breathing techniques. If you want to relax the mind, start with alternate breathing - with equal breathings starting from the left nostril for 5 minutes.

I am unable to sleep better at night. I wake up at 4 am and feel sleepy by 5 pm. If I take a nap, i struggle to sleep by 10 pm. Can yoga help me sleep better? Please help
