You have not mentioned whether you have consulted a dentist for your gum inflammation and were treated in the past for the same.

This tartar or calculus has to be cleaned (the process is called scaling) periodically by a qualified dentist in order to maintain gum health. Ans: Frankly speaking research work means pursuing Ph.D or joining some company of AI, ML and DS in their R&D division. Along with job Ph.D you can't do, but certainly after the certificate course of IIT Guwahati you will have access to the R&D of the companies who deal with DS, AI and ML.
