Hey doctor! I'm 22 and took an ipill on the 4th day of my period and this month my period is delayed by 8 days. My period was late by 5 days last month also normally. Is it normal? What should I do? I don't have any symptoms other than lower back pain

Ans: Yes, taking the I-pill can cause delayed periods or irregular bleeding. Sometimes after taking I-pill spotting can occur within 7 days or cause delayed menstrual bleeding also. The I-pill is an emergency contraceptive pill that contains a high dose of hormones that can disrupt your menstrual cycle.
But it is advisable to do pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy.
Or visit your nearby gynae to rule out other causes if delayed menses
