My Hb1Ac is 7.3 yet my random and fasting levels are always 150-160 AT THE AGE 45. Is my diabetes is under control? STILL I M NOT TAKE ANY MEDICINE. SHOULD I TAKE MEDICINE?

I am 65 yrs old and diabetic since last 21 yrs. I am on medication ie Metformin SR 1gm, Glimpirde 2mg, and sitaglyptin 50mg. with some multivit. Sugar level remain always around 150 to 190 ( F & PP )latest diagnostic for Hb1AC is 7.6 and creatinine 1.1 . these 2 reading never fall below this level. My Physician has not prescribed any more medicine. Is it OK or anything is better suggestive at your end.

Ans: We should aim for a better HbA1c. Diet and exercise are the key. Medications may be adjusted as per the doctor to optimise glucose levels further. Need to watch for low glucose levels also, if caused by medicines.

Ans: HbA1C indicates your glycemic control of the previous three months.

Sir my daughter scored 73.8 in 10+2 but maths percentile is very low @ 46. She wish to appear in BITSAT. Can she be eligible if she improves her score in improvement exam to be held in July by CBSE?

Ans: Eligibility for BITS Pilani Admission:
Minimum Requirement: Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (for engineering courses) and secured at least 75% aggregate marks in these three subjects or be among the top 20 percentile in their respective board exams.

BITS also requires minimum 60% marks in each of these subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).
Yes! If she improves her aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics to 75% or above, she will meet the minimum eligibility criteria for BITSAT.
But my suggestion is to avoid engineering, because almost all streams in engineering require B.Sc. level math.
