Hi I am facing an issue of elevated uric acid iver 1 yr now... Gout on left toe and feet and body pains in several body parts like ribs, back etc. Uric acid is constantly above 8...Taking febustat 40 twice daily past 15 days.. Also experiencing indigestion Pl advise

Ans: So, the Febustat is useful for reducing uric acid. However, since you have symptoms of Gout as well, you need additional medication to address the Gout.
However, it is equally important to understand the underlying pathology of why you have high Uric Acid. Alongside medicines, please adopt lifestyle and discuss with a dietitian to understand what dietary modifications need to be done.

Medicine and lifestyle modifications together will ensure better treatment outcomes.

Hello Doctor, I am 59 yrs old, 90 kgs, height 6'1", a pure vegetarian. Mine is basically a sitting job. Last July, while doing a routine check up, I found out that my Uric Acid had shot up to 7.60. In fact, my toenails had started coming off. My doctor then advised me to take Febutaz40 everyday for 3 months after which Uric Acid came down to 4.30. He then asked me to stop for 1 month and it again shot up to 7.50. He has now asked me to take 1 tablet every alternate day, now my Uric Acid count is 5.70. For the past few days, I have been experiencing swelling and pain in my feet around the ankles as well as in the toes and fingers. Sometimes it is a tingling pain. I have completed 3 months of Vitamin B12 ( Meganeuron OD Plus ) which now under my Doctors instructions I have stopped. I am also taking Vit D for the past 3 months and supposed to take for another 3 months. My Question is : Should I take Febutaz 40 everyday for Uric Acid or continue taking alternate day, as is now ? And what could the possible reason for this pain in the feet and the toes and fingers ? Should I continue with my Vit B12 medicine ? Last July, my HbA1c was 6.30 which I brought it down to 5.80 by changing my diet and walking exercise. I had stopped sugar intake totally for 6 months after which my HbA1c was down to 5.80. Now I have started on sugar intake but very limited quantity and that too once-twice a week. Now my HbA1c is 6.10. Is it okay or should I stop sugar intake totally ? Just for information during the past 10 months, my FBS is between 98 to 108 and PPBS is between 110 to 140. I am not taking any medicine for sugar control. My cholesterol is between 140 to 180. Could you please revert back to all my queries ? Thank you
Ans: Sir, from your history and background it look to me that you are focussed more on to your blood parameters and medication
Please shift your attention to
1.What is your diet?
2. How much do you take care of the dietary discipline?
3.How much physical activities do you do other than your activities of daily living?
4.How well do you sleep?
5.How well do you meet each day?
Reflect on these things

Dating, Relationships Expert - Answered on Apr 27, 2026

Relationship
My wife posts everything on social media. Earlier she used to post about food and travel and our kids. Now if we have a fight or argument, she turns it into a funny reel or feminism post and everyone on her feed starts commenting. I am not on social media but when we meet socially, our common friends have started making fun of me like I am the villain. She calls herself an influencer and says it is helping her reach a wider audience. I told her she shouldn't post without my permission and it is leading to big arguments. I feel it is unfair. What should I do? Please help me sir
Ans: Dear Anonymous,
I understand where you are coming from; it's not just the post. It's about your private life being turned into public content and mockery. Your reaction is valid and yes, it is unfair. I understand her interest in building an online presence, but it has to be separated from your right to privacy. Start with a calm conversation about this; express, verbally, how her posts make you feel. Instead of saying, "You can't post about is," try saying, "When our problems become content, it hurts the relationship and me." Or, you can say, "I am so happy that you are making content, but not when it involves our problems." It's the best way to frame the expression without sounding accusatory. Be clear about your boundaries: no posts about private matters, and consent is key. Give her real-word examples, like how your friends mock you. Try to keep the conversation as less accusatory as possible, to avoid a bigger conflict. Start with communicating your feelings.
