I am a 33 years old male. For the past 8-10 years, I face cold, running nose, sneezing, cough etc. very frequently. Particularly during the weather change, it remains for weeks all together (not entire day but mostly in the mornings). For the past few months, I feel it has gone worse. I feel cough in my throat. During night, one could hear the congestion when I breathe. Things go a little better when I take OTC cough syrup or medication. I also got some tests done which came normal except for Immunoglobulin - IgE - Value 601 and Absolute Eosinophil Count (AEC) - Value 0.61. Does it indicate that I have early signs of Asthma?

Ans: Secretion in the throat could be due to Post nasal drip. This is, due to Sinusitisig E high indicates that you are hypersensitive to the environment
Apply mild decongestant nasal drops like Normal saline nose drops which relieves the nasal congestion. On a long term immune system needs to be in peace

I have chest congestion, shorter breath problem. I have been facing this problem for 4-5 years continuously. When winter about to end i suffered by cold and cough and this cold and cough turn into chest congestion and breath shorting problem. My Doctor sa says it is allergic problem. So is there any aasan or Yog kriya by i can cure my problem. Please suggest. Thank you.

Ans: You can start including Sun Salutations as they help improve circulation and breath through the congestion. Kriyas like Neti are also useful for allergic rhinitis. You can also include Kumbhaka Pranayama and Bhramari in your routine as both are useful for sinus congestion. However, the best way to manage allergies is to reduce your exposure to allergens - this could be by wearing a mask, using air purifiers and deep cleaning of the house every spring and autumn.

I am 51 years old suffering from Septum Deviation for many years and both my nostrils are blocked. Also suffering from Sinus and Tonsils problems. Ans: Please get your Complete Hemogram and rule out Anaemia and High Eosinophil count which will seen as elevated Absolute eosinophil count. Consult a General Physician to rule out Underlying cardiac contributory factor

Dear Dr. Myself (43 M ) and my son (8 M),have a common problem. As we wake up in morning or randomly any time during day (but surely in morning), or a sudden exposure to ac ,there is sudden sneezing spurt that last 5 to 10 mins and on average sneeze 10 to 15 times with mild mucus. This prevails all-round the year . Both of us are not suffering from cold as such and nor any congestion in chest..My son goes school at 6:30 am and we think it gets aggravated with shower and to avoid discomfort in school , we ask him to bath in the afternoon.Its difficult to find if we r allergic and to what..or its something else. How can we get rid of it..

Ans: It is most likely due to allergic rhinitis. Medications like tablets or Nadal sprays are available

I am meber of EPFO, DEC 1995 TO MARCH 1999 , THEN BREAK & AGAIN JOIN TO EPFO FROM 8 FEB 2006 TILL TODAY, & I HAVE GOT UAN NUMBER FROM FEB 2006 BUT FROM DEC 95 TO MARCH 1999 , THERE WAS NO PROVISON FOR UAN NUMBER, THEN HOW CAN MY LAST SERVICE ADD WITH PRESNT UAN NUMBER

Ans: You may have physical PF slips, documents from your employer which provide details of your EPF account during 1995 to 1999. If you have these records then you can visit EPFO and furnish application to link(merge) this account with your current UAN. They may need a letter from your employer during that phase, attesting the facts about your EPF account.

I had been working since 1984 to 2019.but there was no EPF facility till I worked 1990. From 1991 to 2001, EPF was there but no details are available with me..Company is also closed...How I will get epf benefit from this company.From the service of 2001 to 2019, now co. is asking pf slips from the emplyees. Sir, I had lost my Job during Covid Pandemic in the year 2020 and I had recently got all of my EPFO credited in my account for the last 10 years 6 months.. The EPF was being maintained by the Company's trust. I had asked the respective manager about my EPS(Pension) then he said that they only maintained the EPF amount and the EPS is maintained by the EPFO. Sir Can you tell me how can I access my EPS fund? Do I need any documents or prerequisites from the Company I last worked with or the company which maintained my EPF? Please provide me all the relevant information about my EPS amount and how can I withdraw it.

Ans: Since you worked for more then 10 years EPFO may not allow you to withdraw EPS. Depending on your age 50/58 you may be eligible to receive pension through EPS. Get the scheme certificate from your employer regarding EPS contributions. Have an active UAN linked to your Aadhar & Bank account so that you file claim for receiving EPS pension thru your assigned EPF office.
