Y son got 90.5 in jee mains and 85%in 12 th cbsc he got seat in Vellore vit(ECE) and BITSET He probably get chemical and mechanical civil engineering operations..what is good option for him pls suggest.

Ans: Encourage your son to think about his interests and long-term goals.
If he enjoys electronics, programming, and communication systems, VIT ECE might be suitable.
If he prefers traditional engineering disciplines, BITS Pilani’s options are worth considering.

BITS Pilani (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering Operations):
BITS Pilani is a prestigious institution with a strong reputation.
If your son is interested in core engineering fields, BITS could be a good fit.
Chemical Engineering involves processes related to chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and energy.
Mechanical Engineering deals with machines, materials, and design.
Civil Engineering Operations focus on construction, infrastructure, and project management.
BITS Pilani has excellent placement opportunities.

VIT Vellore (ECE):
VIT Vellore is known for its strong engineering programs, including ECE.
ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering) offers a blend of electronics, communication systems, and computer science.
Graduates from ECE often find opportunities in IT, telecommunications, embedded systems, and more.
VIT has a decent placement record, with many IT & related companies.

My son got 89.5 percentile in jee,and got computer with cyber security in vitee vellore and also got electronics and computer engineering in Thapar, what should he persue
Ans: With an 89.5 percentile in JEE Main, your son’s rank (~1,57,500) places him outside the range for top NITs or IIITs for CSE but opens doors to reputed private universities like VIT and deemed universities like Thapar. Between the two offers—CSE with Cyber Security at VIT Vellore and Electronics and Computer Engineering at Thapar—both have strong placement records and academic reputations. VIT Vellore offers a more IT-centric curriculum with emerging specialization in Cyber Security, aligning well with future industry trends and higher average packages (~?9 LPA). Thapar provides a balanced core engineering education with solid placements (~?7-8 LPA) and a strong research environment, suitable if your son prefers a blend of electronics and computing. Considering the growing demand for cybersecurity professionals and VIT’s robust placement network, VIT Vellore’s CSE with Cyber Security is recommended for better career prospects and industry exposure. However, if your son has a keen interest in hardware or embedded systems alongside computing, Thapar is a strong alternative. Ultimately, the decision should also factor in personal preferences, campus environment, and long-term career goals. I suggest to go for THAPAR. All the best for your son's admission and a bright future!
