What is Difference between B Des in Animation and B Sc in Animation. Which one is better. Which are the best colleges/Universities in India for doing degree in Animation in private and Government.

Ans: Ashok, B.Des in Animation and B.Sc in Animation are two different degrees in animation. B.Des in Animation focuses on design principles, character development, visual storytelling, and art, while B.Sc in Animation covers technical aspects like coding, physics, and tools. Eligibility requires a background in creative arts and a science background in Class 12th. Career scope includes character design, animation direction, creative design, and game design.

Top Indian colleges for animation degrees include National Institute of Design (NID), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Jamia Millia Islamia, B.A. in Animation, and Amity University. Top private colleges include Mahatma Gandhi University, Amity University, Whistling Woods International, VIT University, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, and MIT Institute of Design.

Choosing between the two depends on the individual's interests and career goals. Government colleges offer better recognition and affordability, while private colleges offer diverse options and industry connections. For top-tier creative roles, a B.Des from NID or a reputed private university is recommended.

Career
Any good animation/BFA applied arts/ Visual arts suggestion and is VIT vellore or bharati vidyapeeth which is better?
Ans: It's great that you're exploring creative fields like animation, BFA, applied arts, or visual arts. These are growing areas with good career options in design, films, gaming, advertising, and digital media.
For Animation / Design / Visual Arts:
1. MIT Institute of Design (MITID), Pune – Excellent for animation, communication design, and visual arts.
2. Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design & Technology (Bangalore) – Very creative space, strong in animation and visual communication.
3. NID (National Institute of Design) – Very competitive but top-tier for all design/visual arts-related fields.
4. Whistling Woods International (Mumbai) – Good for animation, filmmaking, VFX, and media arts.
5. Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID), Pune – Strong reputation for design and animation.

For BFA / Applied Arts:
1. Sir J.J. School of Art (Mumbai) – Best for BFA/applied arts.
2. MSU Baroda – Faculty of Fine Arts – Strong traditional and applied arts programs.
3. College of Art, Delhi University – Government college with good faculty and exposure.
4. Chandigarh University (for BFA & Animation) – Upcoming and offers modern curriculum.
Between VIT and Bharati Vidyapeeth
• VIT Vellore is known more for engineering and tech courses. Their design/animation programs are still relatively new and evolving.
• Bharati Vidyapeeth (Pune) has a more established BFA and applied arts setup through its College of Fine Arts. The exposure here for visual arts is better, especially if she’s focused on fine arts, applied arts, or creative design.
